Guest Burkeville Chronicle
The Burkeville rebuilding process continues as the Mustangs were beaten by the Joaquin Rams by a score of 60-0. The Mustangs offense had four turnovers inside their own 20 yard line. Freshman Tra Hunt was injured on the second play of the game and the game was really out of hand by the 3rd quarter. Special thanks to all the faithful that showed up at Mustang Field..best turnout by a home crowd in years. .......keep your heads up Mustangs...we will live to fight another day. It is going to take some time but we cant stay at the bottom of the circle forever. We still bleed blue and white no matter what happens !!!! The Mustangs record now falls to 0-2 and the Tenaha Tigers await next week.

Guest checkmate
I heard that enrollment is up at Burkeville this year by 10%..does anyone know if that is true or not? I do know that both the Newton and Jasper football programs have several key starters on varsity who left when Harper left Burkeville two years ago. Last year, Burkeville did not have a Junior High program, which is key to building a good football program, and this year they have about 25 kids participating. Harper is indeed the key to the rebuilding of the Mustangs.

Guest Burkeville Chronicle
Not sure about the baseball team yet...I did hear that Burkeville is having a JV baseball team this year though cause they expect numbers. Has anyone seen Tenaha's JH football team play this year?
