Gilbert Moye Update---(Thursday, September 21st)

I just spoke with Diboll head football coach Gary Martel, and unless he's completely missed something, there's no truth to any reports about Gilbert Moye moving back to Jasper.

Moye was in Jasper for Coach Weatherspoon's funeral, but he's been running the scout team, playing some JV ball...and can't wait to debut on Friday, October 6th against Splendora.

Secondly, Moye's debut was expected next Friday, September 29th, but apparently there are some issues with the UIL, Hurricane Katrina, and the one-year timeline.

Although Moye enrolled at Diboll on September 29th, the school itself didn't re-open until the following week, so that is where there's some confusion on his "one-year".

I'm looking forward to his return, the young man has been through a great deal...and I'm sure he'll enjoy a big stretch-run.

He's also working out at several positions, he's a weapon as everyone knows, and you'll probably see him at quarterback, wide receiver, tailback, and defensive back.

gilbert moye is an amazing athlete, i went to school with him through my freshmen year and new him pretty well, i hate to say it but he is very cocky sometimes, he knows hes good and he isnt afraid to say it but i know he is good
