YankeeDawg Posted September 25, 2009 Report Posted September 25, 2009 With the deal at Livingston and now this, maybe a new trend is starting...eliminate your opponents 12th man and improve your home field advantage!!

SETXsports Broadcaster Posted September 25, 2009 Author Report Posted September 25, 2009 I think Silsbee had the same plan but someone tore down the wrong side

Kinda scared to!
Cardinal Supporter Posted September 25, 2009 Report Posted September 25, 2009 This is so wrong. They should have to give up half of their home stands. In fact I think the visiting school has the right to demand equal seating. They should check with The UIL.
FritoBandito Posted September 25, 2009 Report Posted September 25, 2009 That is just wrong. Bring your lawn chairs Bulldog fans
CATS80 Posted September 25, 2009 Report Posted September 25, 2009 I think Silsbee had the same plan but someone tore down the wrong side ;D I remember Silsbee playing Jasper a few years back and Jasper forgot to pay the light bill. but I think they passed a hat around. And rounded up enough money to get them back on to finish the game ;D ;D
SETXsports Broadcaster Posted September 25, 2009 Author Report Posted September 25, 2009 I was there for that one, nothing better than lights out football
CATS80 Posted September 25, 2009 Report Posted September 25, 2009 ;D I can say this .. It is dark !!!!!!!! in jasper at night ;D
OldNedDog Posted September 25, 2009 Report Posted September 25, 2009 I cant wait for Burgundy and Tamland's explanation ;D
AggiesAreWe Posted September 25, 2009 Report Posted September 25, 2009 Tiger Stadium in Silsbee has a capacity of 10,000, not 9,300. The 9,300 was before they added the little horseshoe seating.

SETXsports Broadcaster Posted September 25, 2009 Author Report Posted September 25, 2009 so exactly what are you saying?
Guest ECBucFan Posted September 26, 2009 Report Posted September 26, 2009 Playing at EC would have been IDEAL for all concerned. Still very much a home game for H-F, ample seating in a new stadium for H-F and Jasper. Jasper fans, just sit on the H-F side. It's pretty large...room to spare.
j_dog Posted September 26, 2009 Report Posted September 26, 2009 This is good! If Jasper loses, we have a ready excuse! ;D No place for our fans to sit & yell. ;D
Bucster Posted September 26, 2009 Report Posted September 26, 2009 I bet they still charge admission.
dav-joel Posted September 26, 2009 Report Posted September 26, 2009 This is good! If Jasper loses, we have a ready excuse! ;D No place for our fans to sit & yell. ;D It won'tbe an excuse - because it HAPPENED. :

BadMedicine Posted September 26, 2009 Report Posted September 26, 2009 I cant wait for Burgundy and Tamland's explanation ;D The visitor stands were damaged during Hurricane Ike when the visitor press box fell into the stands. An engineer told the school that they could not be repaired. HF was in the process of building a girl's softball field and that contractor agreed to rebuild the visitors stand. However, the subcontractor who was hired to rebuild the stands skipped town with the funds. So the contractor had to purchase the materials and hire a new subcontractor. All these problems delayed the construction. The folks in HF are still feeling the effects of Hurricane Ike.
SETXsports Broadcaster Posted September 26, 2009 Author Report Posted September 26, 2009 the question is why did the Jasper Coaches and fans have to hear it a day before the game from the EC coach?
BadMedicine Posted September 26, 2009 Report Posted September 26, 2009 the question is why did the Jasper Coaches and fans have to hear it a day before the game from the EC coach? I'm not sure why the EC coach would be responsible to call the Jasper coaches. But since you are the SETXsports Broadcaster, you can put on your journalism hat, call Coach Mangan, and let us all know the answer to that.
j_dog Posted September 26, 2009 Report Posted September 26, 2009 It is over with now. HF was doing the best they could do. They have had a tough year in so many ways. Apparently KJAS pulled the story. In the spirit of good sportsmanship we should let it die also.

Tamland and Burgundy keep me laughing and I want to hear their spin on it. Anyway, Good luck in your recovery efforts.
