KFDM COOP Posted September 26, 2009 Report Posted September 26, 2009 LC-M, D'ville notch net victories Van Wade The Orange Leader VIDOR — Keeping their torrid pace to start the District 20-4A volleyball season, the Little Cypress-Mauriceville Lady Bears went to Vidor Friday and posted a 25-7, 25-11, 16-25, 25-14 victory over the Lady Pirates at Pirate Gym to stay perfect for the district season. Christine Sicktich claimed 12 assists, nine kills and two aces for the Lady Bears (22-6, 5-0). Elissa Tate posted 10 kills, seven digs, two blocks and an assist. Ashton LaVerne notched eight kills, two digs and an assist. Amy Laughlin claimed six kills and two assists and Shelby Apperson got five kills, two blocks and two assists. Kellie Tilley set up the offense well and had 13 assists, eight digs, four aces and a kill. Shelby Sanchez notched 11 digs, three aces and a kill and Kalyn Harkness had eight digs and two acers. Megan Kemp added two kills and an assist for the Lady Bears, who will play host to Lumberton Tuesday night at The Bear Cave. The Lady Bears can’t overlook the Lady Raiders Tuesday as Friday they will venture to Beaumont Ozen to take on the Lady Panthers, who are also 5-0 in district. D’ville def. Anahuac DEWEYVILLE - The Deweyville Lady Pirates evened their District 23-2A record up Friday by posting a 11-25, 25-11, 25-16, 25-22 victory over the Anahuac Lady Panthers at Pirate Gym. Senior Marissa Powell had five kills, three blocks, an ace and an assist for the Lady Pirates (9-13-2, 2-2). Junior Chelsea Hathaway contributed five kills and an ace. Sophomore Jacie Smith had four kills, seven aces and a block. Senior Rebecca Morgan claimed three kills, three blocks and two aces. Sophomore Amber Stanley set up the offense well with 13 assists, five aces and a block while senior Heather Beaudoin had an assist and senior Amber Burks added a kill. The Lady Pirates will head to Buna Tuesday. In other volleyball action Tuesday in District 21-3A, WO-S visits Hamshire-Fannett; Bridge City welcomes Silsbee; and Orangefield will entertain Hardin-Jefferson.
