Its about 125 miles one way from Burkeville to High Island..The Mustangs also travel to Sabine Pass later this year.

High Island should prepare for Mustangs this week just as they did for the Bobcats last week.  Anything can happen on Friday night.  The Cardinals need to be mentally prepared for the Mustangs.  Coach Harper is shaping up his team and they will be ready to play.  Nothing is a given.  Lets Go Cardinals, get after them.

Hey Maverick, from this post I can tell that you are not familiar with 1A football. 

FYI:  High Island and Sabine Pass have been in District play with Burkeville for over 20 years.  SP a few less, but thats another story.  We also played West Sabine for a few years and for a two year span we traveled to Cushing for District.  Two years ago Burkeville moved to a northern district, but they have settled back in D23.  Now that HD & West Hardin are 2A(have been for several years now) we have an 8 team district.

...for a two year span we traveled to Cushing for District.  

Now THAT was a long trip......also don't forget that Apple Springs used to be in the district, too.....you guys have had to make a lot of long hauls in the past decades for district games....

Last Friday Burkeville suprised the Oilers. We thought they were gonna be the same as last year. Their defensive line has gotten alot better. Im actually gonna go for the Mustangs on this one. Good luck to both teams.  ;D

we plan to practice hard this week to prepare for burkevilles D. it won't be a blow out like last year, it will be a good game till the end. i say cardinals, 33-21

Yea Burkeville, may have gotten better since last year but so has High Island, and Burkeville may have a good defense but i think High Island's offensive line can handle them.... I say High Island 44-21

Burkeville needs an offense..(and NO cousin you are not going there you are staying in Newton if you read this!) There defense has improved and they will be getting everyone back next year..but they still lack that speed back, home run hitter that they always had in the past..I get a feeling that it is coming sooner than later. This will be a good game. It will be decided by less than a touchdown...good luck to both teams. (Get well soon Newton Eagles!!!!Just because your out of school because of the flu does not mean thats a good thing)
