PNG1992
The TJ and Lincoln games vs PNG were always fun to attend. There were a few great rivalries lost when PAISD merged to Memorial. 20-4A would have always been: TJ Lincoln Ozen Central PNG Nederland LCM Vidor
Long Tall Texan
Absolutely. My mom would tell me stories from her cheerleading days, and TJ was always the best rivalry because they were very good back then. She was at PN-G in the mid 70s. PNG1992
I wonder what the odds are of PAM ever dropping back down to 4A? that would solve the problem of having Dayton, Livingston or BH having to play in 20-4A.
outanup
I dont think my sons believe me when I tell them how big the TJ-PNG rivalry was. For me, the PNG-NED rivalry is a close second.........But I STILL BLEED MAROON AND GOLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hear every football season how PN-G would have never amounted to anything if it wasn't for the PA transplants.

Long Tall Texan
AMEN to PA moving to 4A. I would love to see them in our district, keep it very local, no long trips for anyone. And it would be so much more meaningful for local bragging rights.
outrider52
In 2000 and maybe 2001, I don't remember. The area had 2 4A districts. TJ, Lincoln, PNG, Nederland, WOS and LCM in one. Ozen, Silsbee, Jasper, Vidor, Lumberton and Livingston in the other. The teams dropping to 3A and the combination of the Port Arthur schools put an end to this setup. outanup
I believe Memorials enrollment is around 2400, dont quote me. If this is so and the 4a cutoff is around 1900, it doesnt seem possible anytime soon.
SFA85
PAM won't drop to 4A anytime soon. 2 Things: I still hate Xbox is the HC and I'd rather struggle in 5A than to watch all 3 struggle in 4-2A is far as football's concerned

BWCoach
Standing room, overflow crowds were the rule for any TJ vs. PNG football game. I don't think I ever enjoyed high school football as much I did in that era.

bees85
When I was at LHS we were in 9 4A west zone. Jasper was in the east zone, was kinda weird we had 2 zones, cant remember who was in which but Jasper was our biggest rival from 83 to 86, then WOS dropped down to 4A then it was them, TJ was afraid to play us back then they would never even schedule a scrimmage....lol
