He left Vidor and went to Hebert, not sure what happened to him after that move. I played for him my Freshman year. He was really done very dirty. He took over for Thompson when Thompson left Vidor the first time for Lamar. Then the second time Patton basically told him that Thompson was coming back and he would be reassigned. Thompson only stayed 1 year and left again for Port Arthur TJ. That is when the master come to Vidor, Philip Brown.
Guest pirates Posted September 30, 2009 Report Posted September 30, 2009 I thought Ivan Croak was a coach for vidor back in the day. I guess not. Mr. Croak was never a teacher/coach. Ivan worked at a pipeline company for 35 years until he retired, he also servered on the Vidor School Board until his untimely passing. Mr. Croak was one of the most well liked and respected men in Vidor. That is one of the reasons we named the football field after him.
