1880 Posted October 3, 2009 Report Posted October 3, 2009 Great game played last night guys. Two teams went at each other with all they had, unfortunately someone had to lose (glad it wasn't you). You showed alot of heart in the second half and in the OT period and got the win. Now its time to get ready for your next opponent and keep up your success that your enjoying this year. But remember to take it one game at a time.

Guest ECBucFan Posted October 3, 2009 Report Posted October 3, 2009 Since you asked, from another thread, the words of "BURKEVILLE CHRONICLE": I think that the Mustangs will continue to improve year after year. The biggest problem for Burkeville is that the majority of the athletes moved to Jasper or Newton. Harper will get those players back eventually. The Mustangs are indeed on the rise..and they are losing two seniors next year! Combine that with the fact that many ex-players are coming back to Burkeville next year..well, you get the idea. Remember, those are NOT my words!

Congratulations to the Cardinals..and thanks for the hospitality you showed all of the fans and the community who made the long trip. It will be a game that I wont soon forget..and its a shame someone had to lose. Congratulations again High Island. What i simply meant by ex-players was that many former Burkeville students now attend high school at Newton and Jasper. Some are athletes..that is no secret. I hope that these students return. I have known these kids for years and would love to see them all come back. Athlete or not. If it upsets some people that I want that then sorry. I wish everyone luck the rest of the season (man, it has went fast) even you BucsFan...I have always loved coming to Winnie..(very nice town and people..Imo) Btw.....wish I could have stopped at the festival last night!

Not sure why any players would go back to Burkeville after being involved with Newton or Jasper football programs.
