Guest coachacola Posted October 8, 2009 Report Posted October 8, 2009 Most teams in the SLC have only played one or two home games but here's the average attendance so far: 1. Texas State 13082 2. McNeese State 13074 3 Central Arkansas 10378 4. Northwestern State 10258 5. SFA 9249 6. Nicholls State 6798 7. SHSU 5375 8. SELA 4980 I'll withhold comment until the season is over.
Lazeek Posted October 8, 2009 Report Posted October 8, 2009 I see LU being around 10-11K for the 1st season.
Lazeek Posted October 8, 2009 Report Posted October 8, 2009 I hope so, but I am just being realistic.
TexasTerror Posted October 8, 2009 Report Posted October 8, 2009 SHSU's attendance is HALF of what it typically is. It's usually in the 8.5-9.5k range. Rain has wreaked havoc. We've had lightning delays for TWO games this year! Since we do not sell many season tickets, obviously the walk-up and student attendance bolsters our numbers. Stinks, but it is what it is... The Tulane - Mcneese game drew 30,000 That was a road game...
77 Posted October 8, 2009 Report Posted October 8, 2009 The Tulane - Mcneese game drew 30,000 I know thats the numbers reported but I was there and there was no where near that many, they may have sold that many tickets but they didnt show. McNeese fans out numbered Tulane probably 2-1.
Javelina Posted October 8, 2009 Report Posted October 8, 2009 I think Lamar will max out on attendance in 2010. If they sell general admission tickets and let people sit on the grass by the Montange Center they could draw 20k+ a game

Guest coachacola Posted October 8, 2009 Report Posted October 8, 2009 SELA just added football about 5 seasons ago. I wonder if they are regretting that decision since their attendance seems to be terrible. Lamar should be right behind McNeese as far as season ticket sales go. I don't think any other school in the SLC comes even close to McNeese as far as season tickets go.
lu cards Posted October 8, 2009 Report Posted October 8, 2009 wins and losses in 2010 and 2011 wont matter.the novelty of lu football will be the draw.once the novelty wears off the on-field product will start to matter.

Last I heard there were suites coming off of the Montagne Center so do not know how much grass will be there... I am really excited about the number of people who are saying they will be going to games. I think that the way they have structured season ticket sales is going to be really good. I like that if you want the good seats they you must be a member of the Cardinal Club...

TexasTerror Posted October 11, 2009 Report Posted October 11, 2009 might as well of been.. Pretty much every mcneese fan went because of the short commute and D1 program they were playing. All of McNeese's games this year were against Div I programs except one - Henderson State. ???
