Guest jettyman Posted October 9, 2009 Report Posted October 9, 2009 As of 9:10 the 8th grade game had not started yet because BC had to have a inter squad scrimmage which put all the other games an hour and half behind schedule. Not a genius in Math but that puts those kids home around 12 o'clock and that is if all goes well. Hopefully, none of the boys had homework or a test to study for. The last I heard the teams were waiting for BC band to clear the field. So much for the score hitting the paper tomorrow, they have deadlines. Needless to say, that everyone deserves to play each week but at some point the well being of the athletes must be a priority and 5 hours of sleep on a school night can't be a good thing.

The 7th grade B game ran longer than expected. None the less my 7th grader got home @ 10:15 I can only imagine how late it was for the 8th graders.
bedelmon Posted October 9, 2009 Report Posted October 9, 2009 I'll tell ya another reason it went so long. They actually cleared the field during the 8th grade warmups so the BC jr. high band could perform. C'mon man, thats a halftime show!
bmrm Posted October 10, 2009 Report Posted October 10, 2009 The reason the 7th grade B team lasted longer than expected is because they were not running the play clock. In junior high games they don't need a running game clock but they do need to utilize the 25 second play clock. When HJ played in K-Ville two weeks ago, the play clock was used and there weren't any unnecessary delays. Also, the BC scrimmage ran over a bit so the B team game was delayed by about 20 minutes or so.
