warpaint101 Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 How does everyone feel about 4 teams going to the Playoffs , Besides money, and that teams can say they made the Playoffs .what benefit is there for competition It almost seems to me that it takes the fight out of competition and bragging rights. Why don't they just send everyone for a tournament....Double elimination.... JMO I like a big school and small school..and maybe a 3rd 1 just because they might have had a bad night ,and may be be better than there record.......But 4 seems to many.... Does anyone agree or disagree?
BORAM Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 I like the 4 team format. 2 for the big/2 for the small. Plus I believe there are some districts in east and north texas that have alot of teams in their district which sends alot of teams home packing for the offseason. I have no problem with it tho, I kinda see it as a way to improve the TEAMS skills by playing new tougher competition teams, more experience by more play time for the younger kids will be back the following year, better experience for the coach's as well. Just my .02.
Anafanatic Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 Dislike...might as well put all the teams in the playoffs! DI champ should play DII champ for the true state champion - IMO
klkctt87 Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 Dislike. Life's about learning how to accept success as well as defeat.
jimbob82 Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 Like it or Dislike it. Its all about the kids, the more kids involved the better. If you win the state championship you have definitely earned it. Most of the time a 3rd or 4the place team is eliminated pretty quick.

UHFALCON Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 4 teams is too many...as is 3 teams. I understand more kids experience the playoffs, but it is almost defeating the purpose when many 3-7 type teams make the playoffs in a 6 team district and then get their brains beat in during the 1st round of playoffs. What does that accomplish? 2 teams is a true measure of the district.
PNG1992 Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 Hate it. 2 teams to playoffs should be the max.
westend1 Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 I like it. Gives the mediocre teams something to play for after week 6.
Guest EagleFan01 Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 I dislike the 4 team format and sending 3 teams. They should send just two teams and that is it. Pretty soon its gonna be everyteam in the state goes to the playoffs. There making things easy for kids they want everyone to be a winner, life isn't that easy and if you keep doing this with them they are gonna go into life thinking everything should be giving to them. The way things are right now you can win 2 games in some districts and make the playoffs that is just ridiculous in my opinion.
underarmor Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 Dislike Now we have kids playing just to be 4th best...........................j Aint the American Way Brother....... We didnt get to be the World Power by being 4th best.....did we. Its a sign of the times, making us weaker.......................BEWARE and read your history
TexAgNDN Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 DISLIKE. Although still an accomplishment, making the playoffs doesn't mean what it use to. I liked the 2 team format. I was okay with 3, but 4 is ridiculous.
baddog Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 All it did was add one week to DI. The undeserving teams will be gone by week two anyway. What if you are the 4th team? Won't you give it your all and be saying that this was the break your team needed to make their run? Of course it is.
shovel Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 Normally, I dislike 4 teams to the playoffs. This year with 20-4A as strong across the board, I kinda like it. As it is, a good team might be staying home. In a normal season, one or two not-so-good teams might be going.
Guest ECBucFan Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 Hate it. 2 teams to playoffs should be the max. I HATE it, too. I would rather miss the playoffs than get in #4.
UgotTRUCKED Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 Although it may or may not benefit BH this year, I don't much care for it. But you never know what could happen if you get in and things start clickin'.
SHSTIGER Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 Dislike. Making the playoffs should mean something. I think it hurts some good teams that have the potential to be great by allowing them to halfway phone it in during the district race. I also think that it has hurt rivalry games.
baddog Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 It's all about money, which is what just about everything comes down to....
live_4_Him Posted October 15, 2009 Report Posted October 15, 2009 Strongly dislike! I wish there were only two teams from each district as is. I hate the third place team gets to make it. Even though some have had playoff success, in my opinion, three teams makes district play mean less. I wouldnt be upset even if they narrowed it down to one team per district.
