Man, you gotta feel sorry for that 1/2 person we have in Lumberton, I wonder if they are a he or a she and if they only have to attend school half days?

;)

Not trying to be sarcastic here, but I think that has something to do with "special needs" students.  Liberty used to claim a lot more than they actually had so they could keep their enrollment numbers down.  I am guessing you might get more money for a "special needs" student too.

I may be WAY WRONG here, but that is what I was told.

in that case, there are probably a lot of half students making up that number in l-town. they just happened to have an odd number of them. ;D

Not a PEIMS expert but very few students are actually counted as .5  It has to do with where they attend school and what district they are in.  Example:  Student is a special needs student who lives in District A and attends District B (because District B provides services that District A pays District B to provide).  The student would count as .5 for each district.  At least that is my understanding.

I don't see either of the Dallas schools or FW school droping because of the travel costs to play other 3A schools which are a good ways out of town. Maybe the same for Lamarque. Think about it, where is the nearest 3A district to Lamarque? For a struggling ISD more travel is not a good thing. You don't have to drop. You can petition to remain up.

Dallas and FW alread have schools playing 3A so the more the marrier.  It's Houston that won't let 4A schools with low numbers drop.....

From everything I have heard Houston area school's may not get a choice this upcoming year.

Which is a good thing since there's not 8 districts in Reg 3 3A.  Adding a 6 team Htown district would fix that......

This will give you an idea how the alignments have gone over the years.

If the percentages hold true the cut of between 4A and 3A should be somewhere around 1020 to 1025.
From 3A to 2A  around 440.

Looks like Deweyville will be moving to 1A

Think it will be close.
[/quote] Would that be a good thing or would you rather stay in 2A?  I didn't realize D-Ville was that much smaller (enrollment wise) than the rest of the district..

Yeah its a good district right now, moving to 1a would have its advantages but the better competition is in our current district.
