AggiesAreWe Posted October 16, 2009 Report Posted October 16, 2009 These are the cutoff numbers for each classification from the last realignment: 5A 2085 4A 980 3A 430 2A 200 Over the last several realignments the bottom number for each classification has increased by an average of about 50. So the upcoming realignment cutoff numbers could look like this: 5A 2135 4A 1035 3A 480 2A 250 Most likely the last two classes will not have that much of an increase, but that's a ballpark figure for each class. Did see that LaMarque turned in 972. Looks like they will drop to 3A.
BORAM Posted October 16, 2009 Report Posted October 16, 2009 I think Lumberton might be close to dropping into 3a too....Do they go off the previous years enrollment or the current oncoming year?
AggiesAreWe Posted October 16, 2009 Author Report Posted October 16, 2009 I think Lumberton might be close to dropping into 3a too....Do they go off the previous years enrollment or the current oncoming year? The number is off the current enrollment as of yesterday, senior class excluded. The 8th grade class is counted in it's place.
cats55 Posted October 16, 2009 Report Posted October 16, 2009 Thats not true. The high school enrollment, grades 9 - 12 is what is turned in.
77 Posted October 16, 2009 Report Posted October 16, 2009 I think Lumberton might be close to dropping into 3a too....Do they go off the previous years enrollment or the current oncoming year? I cant imagine Lumberton would be dropping with the growth that community is experiencing.
Javelina Posted October 16, 2009 Report Posted October 16, 2009 Two years ago Lumberton turned in 1063.5. They might be growing but that bottom number is keeping up with what they have.

Not sure how this big school/small school stuff is gonna work. Sounds like to me that depending on the size of the schools you could still end up with big schools playing small school. Unless of course travel times isn't a factor

I cant imagine Lumberton would be dropping with the growth that community is experiencing. Lumberton has always been at the bottom of 4A when it comes to student enrollment, barely making it in. If the UIL keeps increasing the cutoff numbers then sooner or later we aren't going to make it. Plus the growth doesn't necessarily mean we have more kids coming to our school.
AggiesAreWe Posted October 16, 2009 Author Report Posted October 16, 2009 That DI-DII thing in 5A-2A ain't happening. This next realignment will be just like years past. Only 1A is dividing the schools up into divisions.

Only 1A is dividing the schools up into divisions. Ah OK so the only shake up in area 4A will be all the new schools and possible drop downs from 5A. Or move ups from 3A.
