People calling to see if their tax dollars are being used is interesting. Guess they do not understand that having a varsity FB game and a marching contest would cost them more to repair than to dry it.
CowboysNIndians Posted October 16, 2009 Report Posted October 16, 2009 LC-M is known for their support of thier band, not the football team. OK, this year may be different. I doubt $1 would have been spent to dry the field if not for the UIL marching contest Saturday morning at Bear Stadium

Great job LC-M That's not the only reason. The UIL Region X Marching Competition is to be held there tomorrow, and it's a major fundraiser for the LC-M band.

The helicopter was paid for through the band’s activity funds and not from state funds or tax dollars. --kogt.com
Lefty99 Posted October 16, 2009 Report Posted October 16, 2009 With the amount of consessions that will be sold and the tickets for admittance into the marching contest they will make more money than you can probably imagine....at least more than you would think. I was a part of that Marching Contest 10 yrs ago and they pack that place with plenty of people. They'll get their money back for what it cost to run that Copter and then some.

The only money made for anything associated with LCM is profit made by their band boosters through concessions after expenses. Estimated 20,000 plus attend the event.

I bet you can count on at least $5 a person (probably way more since many of them will be there all day)
