Guest Ranger83
According to Aristotle, the Spartan military culture was actually short-sighted and ineffective. He observed: It is the standards of civilized men not of beasts that must be kept in mind, for it is good men not beasts who are capable of real courage. Those like the Spartans who concentrate on the one and ignore the other in their education turn men into machines and in devoting themselves to one single aspect of city's life, end up making them inferior even in that. Even mothers enforced the militaristic lifestyle that Spartan men endured. There is a legend of a Spartan warrior who ran away from battle back to his mother. Although he expected protection from his mother, she acted quite the opposite. Instead of shielding her son from the shame of the state, she and some of her friends chased him around the streets, and beat him with sticks. Afterwards, he was forced to run up and down the hills of Sparta yelling his cowardliness and inferiority. (You boy's be careful riding that short bus home today.) BringinTheHeat
I haven't seen a kid on the JV or the sophomore team run a 4.5 forty. And the receivers on the JV team are struggling a bit to catch the ball. If there is that much speed strength or talent on the soph. team, they need to pull them up to the JV team. Jackthehammer
This might be your classic case of a fan from another team trying to embarras BH. If not this is a candidate for dumb post of the year. Extra Extra The UIL in the state of Texas has made an astonishing and mind blowing announcement The Barbers Hill Eagles have been crowned State Champions 1.25 years ahead of time. In an odd turn of events the UIL stated that a fan of BH alltheway has persuaded them that the BH football team will go undefeated and read every play of their opponents offense the entire season. Therefore they will finish the season 15-0 and their opponents will score 3 points the entire season. Folks there will be no 4A d-II Championship game next season. If you have a 4A team increase your enrollment if you want to play for State next season. PS this is not for all the rest of you BH fans or maybe all of them if this guys is not for real. Guest Ranger83
What are the symptoms of drug abuse in teens? Some of the most common symptoms of drug abuse in teenagers include lying, making excuses, breaking curfew, staying in their room, becoming verbally or physically abusive toward others, having items in their possession that are connected to drug use (paraphernalia), the smell of drugs (for example, solvent smell of inhalants, marijuana smell) on them, mood swings, stealing, and changes in friends. Examples of paraphernalia include matches, rolling papers, and pipes for drugs that are smoked, multiple pill bottles for substances that are in pill form, mirrors for drugs that are snorted, and needles, syringes, and items that can be used as tourniquets for drugs that are injected. In addition to those more behavioral symptoms, loved ones can look for the physical symptoms of drug intoxication and withdrawal. Given the complexity of those symptoms and how much they depend upon the specific drug being abused, loves ones are advised to have their family member evaluated medically and/or psychiatrically if substance abuse is suspected for any reason. Until you ask, no one can help!

Aristotle also thought the moon was made of green cheese...their military culture may not have provided them with a complete and full life but it did make them the greatest fighting force of their time. Plus, Socrates was a better philosopher anyway!!

PURPLE 4EVER
What an idiotic thread.... For the young men growing up between the Trinity River and Cedar Bayou, they are taught at a real young age when it comes to football, DAYTON RUNS THE SHOW! Cummulative scores... Dayton vs Barbers Hill 7th Grade B TEAM DAYTON 18 BARBERS HILL 13 A TEAM DAYTON 32 BARBERS HILL 12 8TH GRADE B TEAM DAYTON 14 BARBERS HILL 6 8TH GRADE A TEAM DAYTON 7 BARBERS HILL 0 FRESHMEN B TEAM DAYTON 12 BARBERS HILL 0 FRESHMEN A TEAM DAYTON 22 BARBERS HILL 0 JV DAYTON 16 BARBERS HILL 6 VARSITY DAYTON 24 BARBERS HILL 21 TOTAL.... DAYTON 145 BARBERS HILL 58 Your future Barbers Hill studs just got thumped 145 to 58 by the Broncos. The Barbers Hill freshmen class that is really good also got hammered by a better Dayton squad and didn't even score a point. Just curious.... If Barbers Hill gets pulled into 20-4A next year, I would like to bet that Price doesn't want any part of scheduling Dayton, he knows it will be a gauranteed "L", not just for varsity, but for all the other squads as well.
