BMTSoulja1 Posted October 20, 2009 Report Posted October 20, 2009 We won this week and move down from #19 to #20. That's alright though. We'll take it! 8)
AggiesAreWe Posted October 20, 2009 Author Report Posted October 20, 2009 We won this week and move down from #19 to #20. That's alright though. We'll take it! 8) How do you see Central at #20? I see them tied for #18th with Stephenville and Texarkana with 2 votes each.
BMTSoulja1 Posted October 20, 2009 Report Posted October 20, 2009 Ohh. ok.. I'm trying to look at it on my phone. I didn't notice that, AAW. So, are we 18?

Mr. Buddy Garrity Posted October 20, 2009 Report Posted October 20, 2009 why every year Central gets no love in the polls? i dont get it
BMTSoulja1 Posted October 20, 2009 Report Posted October 20, 2009 This is nothing new, Scooter. as long as I remember, Central don't get any respect. I personally think that polls have something against inner city schools. We marched 4 rounds deep in the playoffs and we didn't get any respect. You never know. Maybe in due time.
Mr. Buddy Garrity Posted October 20, 2009 Report Posted October 20, 2009 yeah you right, i dont remember Central being ranked during the Jeff and Leeland show back in the 90s for the Jags

Personally I like the, stealth way. Sneak up on em :-* As a matter of fact Central has been ranked in the pass. But as history has shown, it's not been good for us. After making the polls, we usally get knocked off that same weekend. It happened everytime we got a high ranking. Ranked #1 in the State first year of existance, and that whole season was a struggle for us. TJ whipped our tails. WestBrook knocked us from the playoffs.I can remember when Thomas was our QB in the mid 80's. We got ranked early that week. Me and my brother went to see that team play a PNG team we should have handled easily, on paper that is. We lost that game and dropped out of the rankings. that's just two instances. There's been a few more.
Guest Burkeville Chronicle Posted October 20, 2009 Report Posted October 20, 2009 Friend of mine says Wellington in 1A is loaded....going to be interesting to see the playoffs this year.
badndn Posted October 20, 2009 Report Posted October 20, 2009 It ain't just the inner city teams, it is primarily the GT area 4A and 5A. PNG in 1999 got no love at all. I think it is because of how long it has been since we (the GT) have won a state tittle. We are just not on the big stage enough. I bet if Stowers stayed at Central after last season you guys would have been ranked pre season and maybe now as well. The unknown of the new coach?
MikeEast Posted October 21, 2009 Report Posted October 21, 2009 Rankings don't mean diddly, just a popularity contest. Just keep winning and the w-l stats at the end of the season will tell the real story.
