no-look Posted October 23, 2009 Report Posted October 23, 2009 When I was a freshman (back when the wheel was almost round...lol)I worked at the school during the summer. New Supt. told us to clean out underneath the bleachers in the gym and haul everything to the dump. There were several boxes of old trophies.....One I remember was 1927. A first place cup trophy about six inches high.......showed we had beat Silsbee for the championship game at a Sam Houston Tourney.....kept it for a while and later lost it. Wish I would have kept better care of those things.....just didn't seem important at the time.....

AggiesAreWe Posted October 23, 2009 Report Posted October 23, 2009 Here are my preliminary picks, since someone needs them right away. ;) ;DMy picks are based on last year, not what they will do this year. I see definite changes at the end of the year.Offensive MVP: Pheal Hill, SilsbeeDefensive MVP: Jacoby Turner, HJPG: Garrett Gustafson, HJSG: Prentice Lane, SilsbeeSF: Zach Hayes, OrangefieldPF: DC Stallworth, SilsbeeC: Darius Davis, WOS
Lazeek Posted October 23, 2009 Author Report Posted October 23, 2009 I agree with the exception of shooting guard..............Greyson is a better shooter than Prentice. I based it on who I thought was the best 3 pt shooter in district!!!
Guest baseball25 Posted October 23, 2009 Report Posted October 23, 2009 Silsbee didn't make the playoffs in 99-00 either thats when Lumberton beat them twice in district lol.

I didn't want to just regulate that position to just 3 point shooting only.

Keep hanging your hat on that one season. Silsbee will just keep doing what they do, make the playoffs.

In the last 39 years, only 4 times have the Tigers failed to make the playoffs. One of those years was 1982, my senior year. Back then only 1 team went to the playoffs and we tied Hebert for district after splitting with them, but lost to them in the district playoff game. Hebert went on to win state that year.

PrettyBoi10 Posted October 27, 2009 Report Posted October 27, 2009 silsbee is a lock for district champs an in 05 they 8 players make all disrtict an the newcomer of the year an off. mvp so thats a total of 10 so i could see a repeat this year
BLUEDOVE3 Posted October 27, 2009 Report Posted October 27, 2009 So you guys are telling me not ONE PLAYER from Hamshire Fannett made a list? All jokes aside fellas, I've never seen the h.s. players play in a game , but maybe one should be on the list. I thought every team had at least one decent player. ???
Lazeek Posted October 27, 2009 Author Report Posted October 27, 2009 Sorry Dove not this year...........if HF football team is any indication of what their basketball team has then it will be a long hoop season!!!

Yes, we are passionate about our program as are most successful ones, but we are also respectful of other programs as well.
