Vidor at Nederland Predictions

People from Nederland don't think they're better than anyone. Where would you get that idea?

I hope Ned wins.  But you can't hide the fact that Vidor has 3 rushers in the top 8 in the district.  This is after playing PN-G and Central.
And Ned's defense has basically been last all season.

Funny, I talked to a guy today that graduated from Vidor in '82, and he said PN-G was always their biggest rival back then. To paraphrase his words: "We didn't care about any other thing except for beating Port Neches."

And you need to relax, man. No one is subjecting you to any kind of inferiority complex.

If you would read the whole thread, you will find that I responded to the "you people" comment with an apology as I didn't mean to offend anyone.

However, facts are facts.

49-8-1 says a lot, Nederland has dominated this series, and I was just making a point towards that. These facts matter not come Friday night though.

Vidor comes in as the favorite no doubt.

[/quote]It's all about match ups, Nederland will flat out out score Vidor because of how the offense matches ups against Vidors defense, Vidor will then get way behind and try to go to a passing offense to try and make up ground and it will find itself even farther behind. I never really looked at Vidor as being a rivalry but I know some people do. I still can't believe we lost to Vidor in 06. That was one great comeback for you guys. Nederland doesn't have a defense that will take over the game, but when the offense takes care of the ball and doesn't lose turnovers, they have played well.  They have given up the second fewest points in district, a stat that catches some by suprise.  If we take care of the ball, our defense will put us in position to win... did you listen?

You are right, I guess, if you are 8-0.  But look at the only 8-0 team and see what their stats look like.  #1 in defense and #2 in offense.  It usually goes hand in hand.  It's rare, but not impossible, to be 2nd to last in offense and defense and be 8-0.  What say you?

[/quote]i've personally been to games, jr high and high school, where both of these things have been done. it's not a big deal. it actually makes the kids mad and fires them up. the referees usually tell the coaches about the band thing and it mostly stops. you must have missed the games i was at or maybe don't know the players names. i can't believe that you haven't been to a nederland game where the band plays during the opposing offenses plays. this happens a lot.
