xsv010 Posted October 26, 2009 Report Posted October 26, 2009 I'm a big machida fan but to be honest i think shogun won this fight..in ways it could be a iffy,,but i guess you have to completely win against machida since it was a title fight. but idk?? what do ya'll think?
HoopInsider_Cooper Posted October 26, 2009 Report Posted October 26, 2009 I watched.....I thought Lyoto won 1st and 3rd....He scored several points in his karate style that wasn't seen by naked eye.Shogun was the aggressive one...good to see him back 100%.What I couldn't stand is Rogan and the other a-hole!!! They are idiots.
hughesfan Posted October 26, 2009 Report Posted October 26, 2009 I left to beat the crowd out of Bayou City wings at the end of the fight because I felt like Shogun had it hands down one. I thought at best it might have been 3-2 in the rounds but I felt Shogun won that fight. He missed alot, but so does everyone else on Machida, but his strikes that connected looked like they did more damage than Lyoto's. With the exception of the knee strikes that Machida landed to his liver.Rothwell looked like poo also, I thought that fight would be better.
mat Posted October 26, 2009 Report Posted October 26, 2009 I didn't see the fight but read different opinions and all thought it was very close. I have to agree that "very close" tends to go to the title holder.By far the toughest fight Machida has ever had. Machida, Shogun and Danna all agree there will be a rematch soon.
Guest baseball25 Posted October 26, 2009 Report Posted October 26, 2009 To be the Champ you got to BEAT the CHAMP, and to BEAT The champ you got to DOMINATE the fight and not let it be so close, I thought it was a very very close fight but the Champion will always get the decison in those close fights.
UT#1 Posted October 26, 2009 Report Posted October 26, 2009 i scored it 49-46 for rua i think he did plenty to win the fight you should have to beat the champ to get the belt but u shouldnt have to knock him out or sub him to do. lyotos face was cut in a couple of places and ribs were starting to turn purple while u couldnt even tell shogun got hit in the face...good news is dana said there will be an immediate rematch between the 2
Guest baseball25 Posted October 26, 2009 Report Posted October 26, 2009 the fight was really close, I mean you can't say look at the face because some guys don't cut as easy or swell as easy as some fighters. I mean the fight was a 1 round difference i think for sho gun but sho gun didn't win by 3 rounds by no means. I mean both of the guys were never in trouble in the fight, it was a very very close fight.
Guest baseball25 Posted October 27, 2009 Report Posted October 27, 2009 I think some of those rounds are even I think they need to go to the Japan scoring system or find a new one. How about in championships figthts you can go around if its a draw.
Guest football84 Posted October 27, 2009 Report Posted October 27, 2009 I actually thought this fight was extremely close. With a fight being that close then I believe they got the decisions right. A few rounds could have gone either way. I want to see a rematch, and I believe Rua deserves a rematch.
Guest baseball25 Posted October 27, 2009 Report Posted October 27, 2009 I am with you football, Dana white said there will be a immediate rematch and i am hoping they stack it up with the Lesnar vs carwin card now since its on Jan 2, have a big card to kick off the new yr.Champ Anderson Silva vs. Vitor Belfort (for middleweight title)*Champ Brock Lesnar vs Shane Carwin (for Heavyweight title)Champ Machida vs Shogun Rua ( light heavyweight title) how great would that be if they put this match in with this card. Rashad Evans vs. Thiago Silva* Junior Dos Santos vs. Gabriel Gonzaga* Carlos Condit vs. Paul Daley* Tyson Griffin vs. Jim Miller* Martin Kampmann vs. Rory Markham* Joe Lauzon vs. Sam Stout* Dan Lauzon vs. Cole Miller* Ryan Jensen vs. Mark Munoz* Jake Ellenberger vs. Mike Pyle
