Miles' quick and assertive style of play shown during a scrimmage open to media but closed to the public is just what LU coach Steve Roccaforte needs from his most experienced guard.

"He has a very good grasp of what we're trying to do offensively and defensively," said Roccaforte, who noted Miles as the team's most improved returning player. "He's come back and he's matured a lot over the off-season. He's worked on his game. He's a better player."

Miles played on the red squad with Minor, Nwevo, senior forward Justin Nabors, freshman center Osas Ebomwonyi and freshman forward Justin Wesley. The white squad consisted of freshman forward Stanford Brown, junior guard Reggie Mathis, junior guard Kendrick Harris, sophomore forward Charlie Harper, junior center Coy Custer and sophomore forward Justin Carter. ... Nabors, who missed last season with a broken leg and dislocated elbow, had 19 points. Nwevo, who missed last season with a left knee injury, scored 15. Mathis, a junior college transfer from Oklahoma, scored 24 points. He made five 3-pointers. ... Sophomore guard E.B. Davis (strained calf), freshman guard Jonathan Garza (hip flexor) and senior guard Ashton Hall (strained knee) did not play. ... LU will scrimmage against UT-Arlington on Saturday and Prairie View A&M on Nov. 7. Both will be in the Montagne Center. The NCAA allows Division I schools to face each other in the preseason only if the scrimmages are closed to the public and media and a score and statistics are not recorded.
I liked Miles a lot last year, but hope his outside shooting behind the arc has improved.

Only McThay shot a decent percentage from behind the arc last year.  Hopefully Roc brought in the right players to take care of that problem.
Excellent point! But you would hope this kid got with a good trainer to work on his weaknesses.
