I trully great game.To Colmesneil - YOU GUYS ARE A CLASS ACT AND I WISH YOU THE BEST IN THE D1 PLAYOFFS!Anyone at the game knows you put your heart and soul into the game. You fought back and almost pulled it out in the forth quarter.To all those who doubted the Rebel defense, I hope that you took note that all but one quarter the Rebels held the Bulldogs scoreless. I give them credit for scrapping and scoring in the final period, but they had to put forth a lot of effort to dig out of the 14-0 whole from the 1st quarter. The Rebels did once again score on defense as they have in serval games this season.To those that doubted the Rebel offense, two drives should answer any questions about that. The opening drive of the game was a patented Rebel offensive drive 12 plays 5:30 minutes and a score before the Bulldogs ever touched the ball. Then after Colmesneil went ahead 18-14 the Rebels responded in championship form. A 55 yard drive that took 3:21 off teh clock and put the Rebels back on top. This year the Rebels did something only one other SETX team did and that is to go undefeated. They and I don't claim that they would beat every other team in the area regardless of classification. Argue all you want about the district, the non district opponents and anything else you like. The Rebels played the schedule they had arranged two years ago. They represented no matter who they lined up against. They allowed the second fewest points in 1A this year. They are 17-1 in their last 18 games. They have back to back undefeated district championships. They are going to the playoffs for the forth straight year. These are the facts.I acknowledge that there are breaks that happen in the course of a season, but to go undeefeated means that you overcome those breaks and play through to the end. From the first scrimmage to the end of last Friday's game the Rebels were behind for a total of 3:21. That is an amazing stat!I love the effort from teams in 23A and I can assure all the member schools that the Rebels will do everything they can to represent the district well in the playoffs. I look forward to crossing paths again in basketball, baseball and on the track.
