Guest mffl Posted November 1, 2009 Report Posted November 1, 2009 He never stops, from Texashoops:Tre Lynch and Michale Kyser have been teammates for years, whether it's been at Lancaster High School or playing AAU ball for Dallas Showtyme. The Lancaster seniors committed to four more years of being teammates over the weekend. Lynch, a 6-foot-1 point guard, and Kyser, a 6-foot-8 forward, took a trip to Lamar, and both committed to the Southland Conference program Sunday morning."That's a big deal for them. [Lamar] did a great job of recruiting them," said Showtyme director Erven "Big E" Davis, who also coached both players this season under Showtyme Elite. "When they went to the campus, both of them really liked it. They both can be impact players in the Southland."Lynch averaged 15.5 points and four assists, and Kyser averaged roughly 10 points, eight rebounds and three blocks for a Lancaster team that was 29-7 and a game away from making the UIL Class 4A state tournament last season.TexasHoops.com will have more on Lynch and Kyser later today.
Guest coachacola Posted November 2, 2009 Report Posted November 2, 2009 Tre Lynch is #34 on Rivals top 105 in Texas.
TRE is a very good athlete who can explode to the rim and makes plays all over the court. He is a good shooter with a nice stroke from the 3 point line, uses fakes well to create open space and take it to the rim, has good body control to finish in traffic and can dish it off the to the open man in the paint. He is a good ball handler, can really push the ball up court through traffic and can change the pace of the game with his open court speed and athleticism to the rim. He can really defend on the ball and gets loose balls and deflections with his quick hands.
Kyser is #102 on the list:
MICHALE is a skinny paint player with long arms and a wiry frame. He has good hands and skills for a player his size and runs the floor well. He finishes well in the paint, get trash buckets with his active and long arms and has a soft touch from 12 feet. He is a good rebounder, contest shots in the paint and can defend with his reach. He will need to add a lot of weight and strength but has a nice skill set and the ability to really become a nice player over the next few years.
Looks like Roc has 4 freshmen signed for next year.
Guest mffl Posted November 2, 2009 Report Posted November 2, 2009 I guess this means Nuno Muandumba is a no go.
Guest mffl Posted November 2, 2009 Report Posted November 2, 2009 Here's an extension on the original article with some quotes:The seniors not only are teammates; they are close friends. Lynch said they will be roommates once they arrive at Lamar."It'll make it feel even more like home with him there," Lynch said of Kyser.Kyser added: "We've got a good relationship. He's like my brother. We know what we want to do in basketball and in life. It'll be a good situation for us." Tre LynchLynch, one of the state's quickest and most athletic backcourt players, was recruited as a combo guard in Lamar's three-guard lineup. He chose Lamar over Central Connecticut State, Southern Arkansas and a few other schools. Local schools TCU and UT-Arlington also took interest in him."They like to run and gun, just like what I'm used to playing at Lancaster," Lynch said. "Some of the players on the team now, I already knew, so it made me feel like I was at home again."Kyser, an equally athletic big man, was recruited to play either forward position. Kyser also could see time at center for Lamar. He chose Lamar over Southern Arkansas, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and other schools."Lamar was hitting me the hardest," Kyser said. "The thing I liked most is that the team is a family. Another thing is that I'm from Victoria; I moved to Dallas in the eighth grade. Lamar's about two hours away from Houston and Victoria."As they prepare for Division I college basketball, both commented on life away from basketball. Lynch said a basketball scholarship will help him get an engineering degree. Kyser wants to obtain a communications degree upon graduation if a professional career doesn't follow."This is the best thing to happen to me," Kyser said. "If we get hurt, we can still go on, get a degree and do what we've got to do to get a job. This scholarship is for basketball and academics."Lynch and Kyser join Lancaster teammate John Bohannon as a Division I-bound athlete. Bohannon has verbally committed to play for UTEP. All oral commitments are nonbinding. The first day Lynch and Kyser can sign a national letter of intent is Nov. 11.
TexasTerror Posted November 2, 2009 Report Posted November 2, 2009 For a player ranked No. 34 - it does not seem like he had an impressive list of schools interested in him. ???

If he was a 6'3" combo gaurd he would have probably been more heavily recruited.

That does not mean too much. I can get a letter from Lamar in the mail that went out to 150 people. Is that interest? What defines interest?
Oh I'm sure he would have moved up into the top 5 had Dan Rather State been recruiting him.
Seriously? You guys know SHSU does not recruit top-ranked players. We tend to be outrecruited by the entire SLC by the numerous rankings. Lamar tends to be top dog in hoops' recruiting rankings, NWST in football. How does that translate to results? ???

The news dropped yesterday evening as Collins attended a college game at nearby San Jacinto to support good friend Adriam Morales (3pts). This is a huge coup for the Bearkats, who recently hooked Collins' longtime summer ball teammate Byron Randle 6'2 cg (Friendswood HS 2010). Collins has all the skills that could warrant All Southland Conference in at least three of his four collegiate years to come.
