snafu Posted November 4, 2009 Report Posted November 4, 2009
i say the coach from PN-G super job for a first year coach in this part of the country
I would have to agree. Excellent job he is doing on the reservation. Hats off to him, his staff and the young men for coming in and believeing in his system and executing it well enough to this point to still be undefeated!! Very Nice Job!!
Bobkat Posted November 4, 2009 Report Posted November 4, 2009 I agree, he's done a great job over there. I would have to give Coach Huckabay from Orangefield some notice as well. Basically took the same team that won 1 game last year, installed a new complex offense literally in a couple of months time and has so far won 4 games. We've been in every single game this year except for one (Silsbee) and have lost two district games by a combined 8 points. We're competitive again in Orangefield and I think we'll be competitive for some time.
AirForce84 Posted November 4, 2009 Report Posted November 4, 2009 Coach Bobby McGallion of Silsbee. Although the Tigers started the year 1-4, they are undefeated in district and for the first time since WOS dropped into this district, they are not outright district champions (WOS) via the loss at Silsbee this season.
AggiesAreWe Posted November 4, 2009 Report Posted November 4, 2009 My picks for coach of the year for each SETX district:21-5A jury still out19-4A Kevin Flanigan, Crosby20-4A Brandon Faircloth, PNG21-3A Bobby McGallion, Silsbee22-3A Bob Jones, Shepherd22-2A Curtis Barbay, Newton23-2A Tony Valastro, East Chambers23-1A Alex Davis, Colmesneil

I would have to give the edge to Criag Stump in 21-5A.

1KatKiller Posted November 4, 2009 Report Posted November 4, 2009 The Head Coaches at PNG, Shepherd & Orangefield have all done outstanding jobs this year. Coach Jones at Shepherd took a team that has won 3 games in the last 3 seasons and made them a legit contender for a playoff spot. Hats off to those three coaches.
Critter Posted November 4, 2009 Report Posted November 4, 2009 Since coach of the year can only go to one it would have to be the PNG Coach faircloth.
liltex Posted November 4, 2009 Report Posted November 4, 2009 Don't have his name but my pick is the head coach @Cleveland
MMSLB Posted November 4, 2009 Report Posted November 4, 2009 What Coach Crouch has brought LCM from is just unreal, if you are not around this program then you cannot believe the difference Coach Crouch has made!! And he only has about 10 seniors! Coach Neumann at Nederland has to be considered with all the injuries and still a shot at the playoffs using his fourth QB, how many teams could recover from that?
Buddy09 Posted November 4, 2009 Report Posted November 4, 2009 Who ever coaches the Barbers Hill 8A team and 7B team.
Spherictrey Posted November 4, 2009 Report Posted November 4, 2009 Mike Bickham from Jasper. He has transformed these dawgs into a contender for state. Last year the dawgs were 4-6 overall with 3-2 in district. This year the dawgs are 7-2 overall with a 3-1 district record with still one game to go. Jasper lost a lot of key offensive and defensive players last year and were predicted to do little to nothing more than last year and now look. The only teams Jasper has lost to was the Number 1 and Number 2 state ranked 3A teams. Mike Bickham deserves a lot of credit for transforming the dawgs.
Roughrider Posted November 4, 2009 Report Posted November 4, 2009 Gotta be Lord Faircloth IF he beats Central and goes a few rounds deep.
liltex Posted November 4, 2009 Report Posted November 4, 2009 Faircloth is a good coach but PNG already had a pretty good team last year to build on.Now whoever he is(don't have his name)PNG's DEFENSIVE Coach impresses me more.
T-daddy Posted November 4, 2009 Report Posted November 4, 2009 3a Bickham from jasper, 4a faircloth from png, 2a Barbay from Newton, (if they beat kville) 1a Davis from colmesneil.
MMSLB Posted November 4, 2009 Report Posted November 4, 2009 Hey Gabe did you notice I am the only other person to name Neumann. You and me thinking alike, does that scare you!!! :D
YankeeDawg Posted November 4, 2009 Report Posted November 4, 2009 Coach Faircloth - PNG Indians....no question about it!!!
