KFDM COOP Posted November 5, 2009 Report Posted November 5, 2009 LC-M, BC area round net playoffs setVan WadeThe Orange LeaderAfter both posted impressive wins in the bidistrict playoff round, the Little Cypress-Mauriceville Lady Bears and the Bridge City Lady Cardinals know their area round playoff destinations.The Lady Bears (32-7), District 20-4A champions, will take on District 18-4A third-place unit Magnolia in the Class 4A Region III area round Saturday at 5 p.m. at Barbers Hill High School.The Lady Bears, led by Christine Sicktich’s 20 kills and Elissa Tate’s 23 service points, took down Goose Creek Memorial 25-10, 25-13, 22-25, 25-16 at Lamar University’s McDonald Gym Tuesday night.Magnolia simply throttled San Marcos 25-17, 25-14, 25-6.The LC-M-Magnolia winner will face the Brenham-Beaumont Ozen winner in the Region III quarterfinals early next week. Ozen defeated Barbers Hill 25-22, 17-22, 26-24, 20-25, 15-10 to advance.The Lady Cardinals (20-16), District 21-3A runnerups, downed the Huffman Lady Falcons 25-13, 25-12, 22-25, 25-21 Tuesday night at Barbers Hill behind 45 assists by Emily Kosh and 14 kills from Brooklyn Hogden.The Lady Cardinals will now face District 24-3A champion Caldwell at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Willis High School in the Class 3A Region III area round.Caldwell had a bye in the first round.The BC-Caldwell winner will face either Tarkington or Taylor in the regional quartersd.Splendora, District 22-3A runnerups, downed Orangefield, the third-place unit out of 21-3A, 22-25, 25-20, 25-17, 25-20 Tuesday to move on.In other local playoff action Kingwood Park downed Port Neches-Groves 26-24, 18-25, 25-16, 25-15 and Crosby toppled Nederland 25-23, 25-19, 25-23.
VBhubby Posted November 5, 2009 Report Posted November 5, 2009 LCM vs Magnolia, Ozen vs Brenham, Crosby vs Montgomery, & KP vs Waller. Good luck to all teams in 19 and 20-4A. Their gonna have to bring their A games to get past what might be one of the best VB districts in the state.
