Athletic budget keeps rising

The Equity in Athletics website now has LU's 2008-2009 athletic budget.  It's now at $8.2 million, up from about $6.5 million last year and $4.5 the year before.  I wouldn't be surprised to see the budget over $12 million next year with football bringing in money and the new athletic fee firmly in place.

Here's the summary for 2008-2009:

For comparison, here's the revenue for other schools in the SLC that show their 2008-2009 budgets:

SFA - $11,640,114
UTSA - $10,090,196 (no football)
Lamar - $8,254,954 (no football)
McNeese State - $7,686,406
Cental Arkansas - $7,639,392
Nicholls State - $6,582,405

For 2007-2008, SHSU had $7,924,911 in revenue while Texas State lead the conference with $13,179,928 in revenue.
