A coin toss determines which side shall attempt to score first, and at which end zone the scores shall be attempted.
Each team in turn will receive one possession, starting with first-and-10 from a fixed point on the opponent's side of the field:
In college football, the possession begins at the opponent's 25-yard line.
In high school football, the ball begins at the 10-yard line, with the option for state high school associations to use different yardage (such as the 15, 20, or 25-yard line)
If the score remains tied at the end of the overtime procedure, an additional overtime procedure is played. The team with the second possession in one overtime procedure will have the option of going 1st in the next overtime procedure.

Thanks, don't see why Central's coach would want it 1st , if he was asked.
PNG won the coin flip and had the option 2 times ...from what I can guess!!

The rule is the team winning the coin toss gets the first option of offence or defence. The losing team chooses which end of the field. Or the winning team can choose the end of the field and let the losing team have the option of offence or defence. On the second OT the team that lost the coin flip gets their option of offence, defence, or which end of the field.

Not sure who won the toss or what their option was because I was in Lumberton! But this is the way the OT is decided. High School starts at the 25 yd line and each team gets a shot at scoring until one team comes out on top. On the third OT the teams must try for the 2 point conversion after the score. I know this does not clear things up for what happened in Port Neches, but this is the rules!

That is as simple as i can spell it out.....

i have a question about that blocked FG against these two teams.
PNG blocked the FG and ran it back to the other end zone... i thought that would only count for 1 point?

last season BC blocked a FG extra point and was ran all the way back and was only counted for 1 point so why not in this game?

it was the same situation just different teams...

it has always been two points. Not sure where 1 point would come from.

They said that the UIL adopted the rule 5 years back or so to make it 2pts.

oh, well i guess they messed up in our game last season.
the explanation they gave us was that we couldn't score anymore than what the play was worth...

An extra point that is kicked through the goal post is worth one point but there is also a 2 point conversion.  PN-G crossed the goal line with the ball which = 2 points.

yeah, dont post against me... im not talking about a 2 point conversion... thank you... bye.
what png did wasn't a 2 point conversion. i was just asking because of what happened to BC last year and what happened to png this year was different so i was looking for clarification on a rule or something or if i missed something..

OK, because you said "blocked a FG extra point" (which are 2 different things anyway).  PN-G got the 2 points since the play was for an extra point play after a touchdown.

im just speaking about what i know for a fact happened. and i was wondering why the same thing resulted in 2 different scores... the one with BC was 1 point... with PNG 2... was trying to figure out why they were scored differently.
