Guest FreshmanPhenom#17 Posted November 10, 2009 Report Posted November 10, 2009 You already no my pick is LeFredrick Ford
Guest Arptiger Posted November 10, 2009 Report Posted November 10, 2009 Lavocheya Cooper from Arp is 3 to 1 better than Ford
Guest Burkeville Chronicle Posted November 10, 2009 Report Posted November 10, 2009 Ford of the Wildcats gets my pick as well.
ndn78 Posted November 10, 2009 Report Posted November 10, 2009 Nothing against the other young men because their numbers are outstanding and I do not know them personally, but Caleb Harmon for his actions on and off the field!
westend1 Posted November 10, 2009 Report Posted November 10, 2009 There are 4 or 5 worth mention, but Jeremy Cooper is definitely among them.
LTpanthers7 Posted November 10, 2009 Report Posted November 10, 2009 Ha ha i will take some hits for this one, but although Angel Cruz #25 of the Liberty Panthers only played in two games, Kirbyville with two minutes left where he averaged 13 yards a carry, and Coldspring in with 3 minutes left in the game where he averaged 10 yards a carry.
NDN79 Posted November 10, 2009 Report Posted November 10, 2009 Caleb Harmon from PN-G. Amazing player and a fine young man. :)
the-riot07 Posted November 10, 2009 Report Posted November 10, 2009 The most talented runningback in southeast texas isnt playing right now due to injury, but he is brenton lindsey of WOS! He is just flat out impossible to tackle in the open field! Oh and he is only a sophmore!
babyshoe Posted November 10, 2009 Report Posted November 10, 2009 Those boys from Central impressed me.
kvillefan1992 Posted November 10, 2009 Report Posted November 10, 2009 Fred Ford gets my vote also!!! He is young and will be back next year!!! If he had the playing time these other kids that you all have mentioned, his numbers would blow all of you out the water..but when you put your JV in before half time, its kind of hard for him to get better numbers and more playing time. JMO.

What grade is he in?[/quote]Unfortunately, Cooper is one of two or three seniors who start for Westbrook.
sig220 Posted November 10, 2009 Report Posted November 10, 2009 Cooper is a "program player". He has been developed by the program into a good running back. West Brook has two or three others in the same program.

stix and stones Posted November 11, 2009 Report Posted November 11, 2009 i think Cooper is an excellent running back no disrespect to any of the other running backs in the area, But I have watched him grow this season. If you saw him against Central this "program running back" was not producing. Week after week he continued to get better. I think his slow start can be attributed to a lack of carries on varsity as a sophomore and a junior. I think now he is experienced and has grown into one of the top two or three backs in the area
Guest LR1969 Posted November 11, 2009 Report Posted November 11, 2009 Would have to select Ford at Kville due to the yards per carry avg. and the fact (already mentioned above) that he has been pulled from most of the games this season once the game was out of reach (exceptions being Newton/WO-S/Jasper). Had he stayed in these games, who knows what his numbers might be. Not trying to take anything from Harmon,Pittman,Cooper, etc. but I have to go with the numbers. I believe Ford has approx. 1500 yards on 170 or so carries while Harmon has 1600 yards on 270 some odd carries. Both are great backs but Ford's numbers are better.
Guest happyhour4 Posted November 11, 2009 Report Posted November 11, 2009 not sure of the names but vidors running back pittman ithink and pngs running back are very good
ndn98 Posted November 11, 2009 Report Posted November 11, 2009 I have to go with Harmon. Runs hard and is tough to stop. Also a very fine young man off the field.

When you become a team these singular awards tend to go to other people. Any running back playing can say "if I had gotten more carries, I would be the best". My point.

We played many games with our JV in for our Varsity.
