I'm no Kirbyville fan but it just isn't right for them to be ranked behind Newton.  They beat them heads up, although there are still some Newton fans who would dispute that Kirbyville won the game LOL!

Thats kind of how I'm feeling right now. Why is Newton ranked above us..doesnt seem right at all!!!! What a [size=16pt][b]JOKE[/b][/size]!!!!!

Might have to do with 2 losses instead of 1. Kirbyville hasn't been very respected state wide this year. You have to remember this is not just the golden triangle. Go look at the SETXsports rankings. You should like them.

There is also the simple fact that polls/rankings like this are people's subjective opinions of which are the better teams.  A head to head win does not always change those opinions.  It is also true the "best" team does not always win. (Thankfully..think about it..if this were not the case football would not be all that entertaining.)

An example:

USC has a loss to 3-6 Washington.  Does that mean Washington should be ranked ahead of USC?

A different example:

Last year the Pittsburg Steelers were defeated head-to-head by the Eagles, Giants, Colts, and Titans.  Does that mean those four teams should have been ranked ahead of the Steelers?  Maybe, maybe not.  It depends on your opinion.  That is the beauty of the UIL system though.  Like the NFL, and unlike the NCAA BCS, polls and rankings mean jack squat.  We have a playoff and a champion is crowned.  People can still debate who is "best" but there can be no doubt about who is the champ.

Just goes to show you that these state wide rankings are a joke....These writers only know their area. There is no way they can come up with an accurate ranking.
