watash Posted November 11, 2009 Report Posted November 11, 2009 Kelly...........0 1 1St. Agnes....0 1 1Kelly goal: Zuri PrinceKelly assists: Caitlin QuinnKelly saves: Stephanie O'Neal(6)Kelly record: 1-0-1The St. Agnes field was under repair so the game was played on the Strake Jesuit practice field. It is small and was poorly marked which affected both teams and slowed the game. The game was evenly matched in the first half although Agnes had 5 corners. In the second half, Agnes had the wind and spent more time in their offensive end and took more shots. Kelly's freshman goalie, O'Neal did a great job. Madeline Horning and the Long sisters frustrated Agnes all afternoon with good positioning. Prince broke through at 60 minutes on a cross from Quinn. Agnes kept pressuring and tied the game with 3 minutes left. It was a highly competitive affair, vastly different from many of the Kelly matches with Agnes in the past. Due to a scheduling quirk, the teams meet again next Tuesday at Kelly. It will be interesting to see if this is a turning of the tide or an aberration. Congratulations Lady Dawgs
BudTugley Posted November 11, 2009 Report Posted November 11, 2009 A tie versus the mighty St. Agnes machine is something the Kelly team can be proud of ! The Houston school has almost a 1,000 girls. This is approximately 5 times as many as little ol' Beaumont Kelly.St. Agnes has dominated this division in several sports for years ! I expect Kelly will be victorious on their home field! When will the rematch be ?
sharkfutbol Posted November 11, 2009 Report Posted November 11, 2009 Congratulations to the Lady Dawgs..... Great stuff
westend1 Posted November 16, 2009 Report Posted November 16, 2009 Well, i hear Kelly lost one of their star players to injury. That's sad to hear. Hopefully the other girls can pick up the slack.
