Titans, Bulldogs going live on FNE

The Port Arthur News Friday Night Experience will be breaking new ground on the first weekend of the Texas High School football playoffs.


[b]Memorial’s 1 p.m. kickoff against La Porte on Saturday from Pasadena and Nederland’s 2 p.m. Saturday tilt against Crosby in Conroe will be carried live on internet videostream at www.panews.com. It will be the first time for FNE to attempt a live videosteam of a football game.

[u]Port Neches-Groves’ Friday night game against Barbers Hill can’t be done live because of University Interscholastic League rules against doing Friday night games live[/u]. The Indians game will be available on videostream at noon Saturday on www.panews.com, www.pngindians.com and setxsports.com.[/b]

The videostream of the PN-G game will be tied in to the radio broadcast on Cool 92.5 FM, with Joe Arnold and Paul Brown calling the action. Francis Schroeder will be the technical director.

Memorial’s game against La Porte will have Mark McClain and Port Arthur News sports editor Bob West doing the play-by-play and color, respectively. Travis Brocato will be the technical director.

Nederland’s clash against Crosby will be tied into the KLVI (560-AM) broadcast of Harold Mann and Nick Ewing. Scott Sullivan is set as the technical director on the videostream.

PN-G’s videostream, because it’s not being done live, will remain up for 24 hours. The Memorial and Nederland games are being done live only, and will not be posted for later viewer because of scouting considerations for playoff teams.

Once the playoffs are completed, all games that have been videostreamed will go back up on the web and remain indefinitely.

Fans who intend to watch any of the videostreams must have a sufficient operating system in addition to broadband access.[/quote]
