What a great clip....so best I can get so far on Waller is they run an offense similar to GCM and they got a new head coach last year.  I might have some video later in the week.  Maybe one of our nice coaches can post some of the game film :)???  Don't know if that's legal or not.

They mainly run a three wr set, 2 on one side and one on the other with the qb under center, 2 backs in an I formation, running the option, also they will run spread out of shot gun

QB the main weapon then?  What about their defense?

RJN u r smokin cheese...37-14. u have a better chance of knocking up beyonce than waller does of hanging 37 on the broncos.
Smokin' Cheese is always good for anyone getting ready to face the Broncos, the loss of all you money, things and pride is much tougher than losing to the Big Purple and White!!!

Dayton should be able to keep it close for about a quarter.  Final Waller 37  Dayton 14

I was wondering how long it would be before being visited by Waller fans!!! ;D

I'm not sure about saying this, but for a score like that to happen Dayton would have to have a serious implosion and self destruct.  IMO.

I'm sure Waller will be a lil'bit faster on both sides of the ball.  If Dayton doesn't tweek that offense a lil'before this game they won't make it past Waller.  That behind the line of scrimmage stuff just drives me crazy but I can armchair qb all day and night.  Get the ball down the field to your deep threats Franks and Ploch!  I'm just sayn'.........geeeeeezzzzz

Dayton has a basic set of plays that I have seen them run. Im sure that if its a close game then there will be a few extra plays come out of Stewart. So, if you start bird dogging then you are gonna get beat deep. I see that someone brought up the Crosby game. Just FYI, that was the night that it rained very hard all game. Not an excuse but if I was Waller, I would pray for rain..
Broncos 38,, Waller 14

From talking to the ladies at work, I'd be pretty surprised if this is a close game.  Apparently Waller has a lot of first year varsity players and lost quite a few starters from LY.  Started pretty slowly but are starting to come together from what I understand but lack the talent they've had in previous years.  Of course I also asked her what offense they ran and I got a blank look.  Anyway...I still think Dayton in the 35-7 range.

Basic set of plays with many variables and combonations, if things are going well with the base then you don't have to show all your cards. I wouldn't even want to try and come up with the amount of plays that could be ran from our base offense.

After watching both teamsplay this year, I would have to say Dayton wins this games hands down.  3 TDS
Thanks for the vote of confidence ! I think the dog fight we were in against Vidor will help us make a another decent playoff run just like it did last year against Livingston.

Funny thing is that last year the best competition in the playoffs came from 20-4A...well in the region anyway.  Could be the same thing this year.

Rollin;Looking over the Broncs 11 games the Defense has given up(9)rushing tds.-4 to Crosby-2 to Vidor (both were playoff teams)that leaves (3) rushing tds.in (9) regular season games.Note:Dayton has only allowed 3 rbs.over 100 ypg. With 116-103-103 on 67 rushes tot.=4.55 ypc.Now that's how you reload after back to back semi-final runs w/the latter a state final. To beat Dayton gotta chunk the pig.

    • It’s behind a paywall but here’s Baytown Sun’s story on it.  It was reported on in other papers statewide so if you search by the date I think you’ll find other stories on it. UIL strengthens student transfer rules By Ron McDowell [email protected] Oct 18, 2024   In order to maintain a level playing field for all member schools, the University Interscholastic League strengthened rules regarding transfer student eligibility at its most recent meeting in Austin. Every year thousands of students transfer schools in the state of Texas. A student’s ability to participate in UIL sanctioned activities may be limited base on the reasons for the transfer. A change in family status, work transfers, enrollment in an academic magnet program, or a move across town, receive scrutiny, but only rarely does one of these reasons result in the loss of eligibility. The only reason to automatically cause the loss of participation eligibility is a transfer for athletic purposes. The current rule, which has been in place since 1981, does not require a Previous Athletic Participation Form (PAPFs) to be submitted if the student-athlete does not participate in a varsity level sport during the first year of enrollment. There has been growing concern among some member schools, that other members are breaking the current rule and creating “super teams” with new transfer enrollees, and that the UIL is not doing enough to police, what appear to be, the inordinate number of transfers among high school athletes. To mitigate these concerns, the UIL approved a proposal to expand the power of the State Executive Committee (SEC) and allow it to investigate schools based upon the number of PAPFs submitted. Schools that submit an inordinate number of PAPFs would face heightened scrutiny and possible public reprimand and future sanctions. The UIL has also changed the requirements for PAPF submission, mandating that the form be submitted before a grade 9-12 transfer student may participate at any level of school athletics. This is a marked departure from the current policy which encourages schools not to complete PAPFs for students who transfer in, if the school believes that the student will not play a varsity sport in the first year the student is enrolled at the new school. Some critics of the current system think that the change doesn’t go far enough. Speaking on background, one local school district source suggested that there should be an automatic year wait for transfer students due to the number of loopholes in the waiver process. “If a student transfers, it should be a year out of competition automatically,” the source said. In addition, the UIL also approved a proposal that gives the SEC the power to appoint an independent administrator to oversee the conduct of the local District Executive Committee (DEC) if it is determined that the DEC is not consistently enforcing the rules of the governing body. The change is significant since all appeals that a school brings, starts and usually ends with the DEC. That includes the determination of transfer student eligibility. It is believed that with the implementation of this change, schools in a UIL district will be less likely to face retribution from the DEC chair and other members. • I was hoping WOS was going to win. To get another chance to redeem ourself. Silsbee did not look good in that game and has not played consistent during the season. Hopefully against La Vega they will play 4quarters of football
