I don't have a problem with a fan or a player bragging but if you make a stupid statement and then your team gets beat then don't go missing in action. If you feel your team will win and they do not then give credit where credit is due. I feel the Orangefield will play well but Silsbee is way too strong and I feel Buna will win against Anahuac in a close game. If any of my predictions are wrong I'll be here Monday morning saying I was WRONG. good luck to all teams and may my predictions all be correct. (ha-ha)

Hoping for congrats from everyone on this board shouldn't be that big of a deal for you guys. In fact, what any of us think or say about Lumberton football really doesn't matter. What matters is what the coaches and players for Lumberton think of themselves. Some of the Lumberton posters actually believe that their team deserves respect based on what they believe their team will do this year. That simply will not happen. You earn respect, not demand it.

I have seen Lumberton play this year, they are better than they were last year. Might be even better than what most people thought they would be, I am one of those people. But when you have Lumberton people come on this board and post some of the remarks they have made, how can anyone take them seriously? Posts like: " We will be district champs this year", " everyone else is fat and out of shape", " In three weeks, we will be in the AP top 10 poll"( I know that wasn't on this board, it was on another), " We will dominate 22-4A" ect, ect, ect. When you make remarks like that, all you do is subject yourself to ridicule. Some may say that making those kind of remarks is just showing their faith, belief, or support of their team. Wrong. It's just total irrational thinking that comes off as arrogant and cocky.

I know that most of the supporters for Lumberton probably don't agree with what some of their fellow fans have come on here and have said. I am not accusing all of Lumberton of being this way. It is nice to see Lumberton get excited about their football team, really it is. My wife teaches in Lumberton and she has seen a difference in the kids attitudes because of this show of support. But just take some humble advice, show some humility, don't let some of us come on here and rub the remarks you have made, in your faces.
