NorthoftheBorder Posted November 15, 2009 Report Posted November 15, 2009 Stanford may be the best argument yet as to why College Football (yes TT, I'm talking about BCS division, not FCS) needs a playoff system. They stumbled early but now are hitting on all cylinders and could be one of the very best teams right now after handlily beating both Oregon and UCS. But we will never know without a playoff system thanks to the selfish and greedy BCS and Bowl Committees who only look to feather their own pockets by convincing us they have the fans and schools best interest at heart. They are in the same class as fight promoters and pimps, if they are even that good.
DogOne Posted November 25, 2009 Report Posted November 25, 2009 Yeah, Stanford is the poster boy for a playoff system. Any system that won't let a 7-4 team play for the national championship is seriously flawed! Get rid of those fight promoters and pimps and let's give Stanford a chance.
Guest coachacola Posted November 25, 2009 Report Posted November 25, 2009 In FBS football, it's almost impossible to have more than 1 loss and have a sniff at the national championship. In all other sports, you can have a slow start then come on strong and win it all. That will never happen with the BCS system.
DogOne Posted November 25, 2009 Report Posted November 25, 2009 In college football, if you lose more than one game you shouldn't be national champ. If anyone has a gripe it's TCU and Boise State not Stanford. Stanford couldn't even win the PAC-10 why should they get chance to win the national championship?
