Ok Congrats to HJ on the win first of all second Refs were bad on BOTH sides of the ball. Honestly Kountze has the better team, Yea H-J won but Kountze has the better talent and team all around.... H-J has one good player and thats #21... Little sutherland has a good shot also. But we will be ok for the rest of the season and I still think we have one of the top 2A teams in the state. Congrats H-J and good luck the rest of the season.

Two things are worth mentioning.  HJ played all of fourth quarter without starting point guard who fouled out.  Several "experts" on this board had said that Benard could not replace Donahoe and after that theory failed, they said that Benard could not be replaced this year.  Jacoby Turner had a triple double that was 37-12-12.  So much for the "he can't be replaced theory"

Come on utfan06.......#21 all that HJ has???  Please......how about the game that #50 Ricossa had!!!  I guarantee that he had at least 14-16 points and at least 20 rebounds!!!  He was huge tonight for the Hawks.  Also nobody seems to mention that Gus the starting PG for HJ fouls out with 2 minutes to go i the 3rd period!!!  HJ always seems to find the unsung hero!!!!!  They will be fine this year!!!

Kountze is very, very good and will likely win 2a Region 3 for sure.  There is not a better one, two punch on a team in SE Texas in Walker and Brey!!!  They are great!!!  But other than #30 and #5 I believe those numbers are correct then Kountze has "NOBODY"!!!!!  If any of those 4 get into foul trouble then the Lions will be in trouble.

[/quote]          I don't know where Sutherland shot was but he looked horrible for HJ the postive for HJ is they got the win. Negative they need to find a way to win when the Defense is not getting fastbreaks. I said that HJ wins if they turn steals into fastbreaks and thats what they did J turner 12 steals.....Kountze needs a PG baddd.. Zay McDaniel is not a True PG and i think they  will be okay because New Waverly do not press and i don't think any team in 1a-3a could beat Kountze playing man to man.

      naw, maaaaybe 7, definitely not 8 deep.  today im avoiding sitting by #10s parents, had to move away yesterday.   "put my son back in jub, put my son back in"  and then crying on every little touch of someone.    lets ball out today ktz!

      Very close game until the 2nd half (mostly the 4th) when Orangefield came unraveled. Worse defensive effort I have seen out of the Bobcats in three years. This team has to get back on D and quit getting beat over the top when pressing. Offensively, non ball handlers continually turn it over and their shot selection is poor. Basic basketball, such as: defensive hustle, boxing out, and taking care of the basketball are the areas the Bobcats need to work on most. Whitmire will get them on point, but he shouldn't have to coach effort at the Varsity Level.  We'll be at McNeese this Friday night at 6pm.

      I don’t benefit from it, that’s not my area.  But the average cost to imprison someone is around $15k per year (on average in the US) and capital cases cost somewhere between $1.5-$3M with over half being overturned or reduced to life in prison anyway.  These numbers may be inflated since the last report I read but I’m sure it would be on both sides and higher on the DP side if anything. So what’s the point?  We feel better because we got to return the favor on someone (hopefully) who committed a heinous crime?  And I don’t know I can say we have “complicated” it. Which appeal should we cut out?  Our justice system has a pecking order and we have higher courts for a reason. When we are about to impose the ultimate judgment, should we cut steps that other cases have to save a buck?  Or do we not pay for an indigent person’s experts at the trial court level because it’s too expensive? Or do we just lock them up and throw away the key (unless we later find out they weren’t actually guilty, in which case we have a key and a life we haven’t unjustly ended) and save a ton of money?  Seems to me to be an obvious solution but I’m more of a pragmatist.
