lilbigdaddy Posted November 23, 2009 Report Posted November 23, 2009 This is what the Lamar Cardinal Football team can look forward to next year as they enter the Southland Conference.2009 FCS Playoff BracketMcNeese and SFA are in the playoffs this year. McNeese will be hosting a playoff game vs. New Hampshire and SFA is hosting Eastern Washington. In 2010 the playoff field will be expanded to 20 teams from its current 16 team format. TexasTerror Posted November 23, 2009 Report Posted November 23, 2009 Reminder. Lamar is ELIGIBLE for a playoff bid next year (and a long shot at that based off the schedule and the committee selection parameters - see Old Dominion), but they DO NOT enter the Southland Conference until 2011. The 2011 season will be the first in which Lamar is eligible to win the conference's automatic bid.
Guest coachacola Posted November 23, 2009 Report Posted November 23, 2009 Wasn't SFA winless just a few years ago? I don't think it's as hard to build a winning program at the FCS level as it is at the FBS level.

Let's hope this go-round is different.
