Soccer Posted November 26, 2009 Report Posted November 26, 2009 In my own opinion I think they will be a good strong team. Their coach, Aimee Bates, is one heck of a coach, she knows what she's talking about. They will go far.
FriendswoodFan Posted November 27, 2009 Report Posted November 27, 2009 How many starters return from last year? If they want to compete with the better teams in the region, they need to play a more agressive pre-district schedule against fast, talented teams. I think they were not prepared for the speed of the Brenham team last year in the playoffs.
Guest Newbie Posted November 27, 2009 Report Posted November 27, 2009 PNG should do well in district. They have several playmakers that are returning. I pick them to win district with a slight edge over Nederland but they also lost their goalie. I can see them going a few rounds in playoffs but not out of region. Regardless, I always enjoy watching them play.
Meecho Posted November 27, 2009 Report Posted November 27, 2009 The Lady Indians will be successful, however as the others have said, they need to play a more aggressive game and most of all play together as a team. Quick one- two touch soccer, lots of passing. Don't play kick ball over the top. Good Luck IndiansCheck out the boys, they are going to surprise alot of folks.
hj_hawk_60 Posted November 27, 2009 Report Posted November 27, 2009 Saw them play once last year against Nederland in the championship tie-breaker.. They were good, I say they take 1st or 2nd in district and go 2-4 rounds deep in playoffs
FriendswoodFan Posted November 27, 2009 Report Posted November 27, 2009 They will play Brenham again in the 3rd round of the playoffs. I looked at the schedule on the other forum. Beating the Vidors, and Centrals of the world by scores of 14-0 will not get them ready for what Brenham will bring. Playing the boys freshmen or JV teams once a week may help. Good luck!
sharkfutbol Posted November 27, 2009 Report Posted November 27, 2009 I have to agree with FF. Play tough non district schedule and ask boys jv to play you once a week once district starts. Even the jv team will have speed alot of girls teams wont have. Padding a win loss record does nothing good to ready you for a playoff run. Take a few losses in games that dont matter to see where you need to be. Good luck
weasel Posted November 28, 2009 Report Posted November 28, 2009 They are returning 8 starters from last years team with many returners that played pivitol roles. They will be very exciting to watch. Coach Bates will have them ready!
GoldenBoy92 Posted November 29, 2009 Report Posted November 29, 2009 I think the vincent girl is an excellent contribution to the team, I 'm sure her brother Reece has a lot to do with her talent and skill.
rip2506 Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 Have Coach Bates call Mike Hughes, His U17 club team could give them a nice tune up before district play. Chloe and Natalie have the number.
weasel Posted December 5, 2009 Report Posted December 5, 2009 Cant wait to see this group now that they have last year under their belt....BUNCH of sophmores and juniors last year...and this group is very competitive and know how to win! They will give Region III all they can handle..!!
