jdawg03
This forum is specifically for members to nominate players to be selected on our All Southeast Texas Team. The team will be released on Monday, January 4th. - Nominate players at whatever award category you please, but note that a player will only be allowed to receive one award.- There will be at least 2 teams (1st Team & 2nd Team) selected, as well as other major top accolades. - SETXsports staff will determine the team based off of your nominations and their opinions.- The number of nominations, doesn't neccesarily mean the player will be selected. This is not a popularity contest, and is done to ensure that players coming from smaller schools have an equal shot at winning the award. - Please provide us with all information you have about the player including but not limited too name, class standing, school, and stats.- Nominations will close on New Year's Day

knh09
I saw Tony Hill was nominated but I wanted to say he's started varsity since his freshman year, and averages about 10 takles a game. He play's both sides of the ball, center and noseguard. Im not really sure of his stats but he's an awesome ball player. he was first team all-state all district and all area last year and now is waay bigger and better. he is commited to sfa along with several other setx players. ;D

Justme
The Francis Kid from Ozen out tackled all linebackers in the area. Heard from coaches in the area and no one had 191 tackles but ricky francis. MLBThe harmon kid also had over 110 at Will. The beard linebacker from Lumberton was great too and hale from central. New comer of the year has to be Leroy Jackosn from ozen too. He was a true freshman starting at running back and racked up quite a few yards. And Jacoby anderson at Receiver. badndn
I gotta vote hunter gonzalez for qb. Hardest working kid ive seen all year and prolly the toughest quaterback in the district. He wasnt scared at all to tuck and run it up the middle which he did many times. Can someone give some stats on this kid.
While I agree he was a good player, he was not one of the top QB's in the area this year. He threw for 1647 yards, 10 TD's and 11 ints, but most of that was the bubble screen to Sonnier (in other words he was just throwing the short pass behind the line to Sonnier and Sonnier was racking up the yards (over 900) and TD's (9)). Hunter ran for just over 400 yards, but his average was below 3 ypc.Other area QB's like Reyes, Doty, Forney (great numbers in a short period) and these guys led there teams to the playoffs. Even Hughes at Lumberton, put up better numbers than Gonzales. Hughes had 1651 passing yards, 13 tds and only 6 ints. He also ran for 360 yards and over 4 ypc. And most of his passing yardage came on throws down field.Bad thing for Gonzales is that every kid I named here was a Junior!
utguy09
I didnt say he was one of the top i said hardest working. And those screens that you are talking about i think he used in two games all year. And just about every other pass play this kid was scrambling. He very rarely threw from inside the pocket.
