H-D BOBCAT 55 Posted November 30, 2009 Report Posted November 30, 2009 With their last win Lake Travis now has 43 straight victories. At one time the Hull-Daisetta Bobcats held the National Record for consecutive wins with 43. Congrats LT and good luck on breaking the one time National Record next week.

Grammar Police Posted November 30, 2009 Report Posted November 30, 2009 I will take 10 more years of winning before the National Record is challenged.Concord (Calif.) De La Salle High School holds the National record at 151 games. Now that's a streak.

HDcats0422 Posted November 30, 2009 Report Posted November 30, 2009 Would've sucked to be on the team to have the streak snapped!
badndn Posted November 30, 2009 Report Posted November 30, 2009 Concord is also a Private school that recruits their players from all over Cali and beyond! As are many of the top nationally ranked teams year in and year out.
HDcats0422 Posted November 30, 2009 Report Posted November 30, 2009 Exactly what I thought....when you are a big private school that can recruit you are expected to win.

hj_hawk_60 Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 Found this on Wikipedia ----- Independence High School, Charlotte, North Carolina --- Most notably, the Independence varsity football team, coached by Tom Knotts, won 109 straight games and won seven straight North Carolina High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA) State Championships (4-AA). As of November 24, 2006, the Big I held the second longest winning streak in high school prep football, and also held the most consecutive wins in US public high school football history
H-D BOBCAT 55 Posted December 1, 2009 Author Report Posted December 1, 2009 Mr. Hornet I have contacted the website about the H-D misprint. Thanks.
1979westbrook24 Posted December 2, 2009 Report Posted December 2, 2009 In response to Lake Travis tying Hull-Daisetta's 43 game winning streak,H-D's streak could have been more if small schools could have played for state championships back then. They could only go two rounds deep. The streak could have reached at least 55 games since H-D was ranked No.1 in the classification 4 straight years. ;D
bh89-2 Posted December 3, 2009 Report Posted December 3, 2009 I could see guessing Katy or a school like that, but HD would have never crossed my mind. What time period was their victories?

What time period was their victories?[/quote] It was in the 1930's. H-D had the national record with 43 straight wins. Also H-D has been to State twice. We went in 1961 and lost, then we won State in 1979. H-D has 510 total victories counting this season, which is #7 in 1A all-time. Katy has been good lately, H-D has been good since established. liltex Posted December 3, 2009 Report Posted December 3, 2009 Early on I was thinking LT would win and break this record-Now after furthur checking game summaries-Laugh if you wish Steele just made the mistakes and should have beat em.I'm pickin Alamo Heights in a upset as this has been the year of the underdog.Record remains tied. ;)

Only statistic that really matters in the post season is the final score. They were back in form last week and I am not expecting the Cavs to have a letdown this Friday.
