How about the two Big 12 signees at Orangfield ? Either or both of Phelps and Statum could even be drafted.

Yea, Jasper will be pretty solid. They have a lot of potential to be an explosive team.

big daddy please tell me you aint talkin bout andrew

They have picked up Andrew, But also picked up the two Walker boys from Splendora and I think that will help them out at the plate and in the field. The help I think Cleveland really needs.

BC has the best Sophomore Catcher maybe in the state in Menard......Look for several Pitchers to shine besides Hicks--Dishon, Zoch, and several others.

What a matchup-- position to position--with OF: maybe that is where the real State Championship is decided, like it was a few years back between Jasper and BC....lol
Except Dishon doesn't pitch
He's looked good the few times I've seen him. Doesn't back down from the competition.

Logan Johnson(HF) is one of the more underrated players in 21-3a.  He made all-state last year, so its hard to consider him underrated, but with Hicks, Statum, and Felts getting all of the pub, Logan will sneak up on some people.  From what I hear, he has had a great fall and has been working hard to add some strength & weight to his 6'5" frame.  Not sure how good HF will be this year, but if they play D, Logan will give them a shot to knock off the big 2.

Same for Thomas Derrick from HJ. He was an outstanding first baseman last year and didn't get much credit for it. I've never seen a 220lb kids butt touch the ground in a split without ripping every muscle in his leg. He doesn't have a very strong team on his side this year, but if one or two younger players can help him out they might have a shot at beating BC and OF.

Jasper is in one of the better districts with three very good teams. Carthage and Hudson, along with Jasper are good. However, Jasper looks to be solid one to nine. Leadership from a Coach of the Year in Mixon, a couple of years ago, and the seniors they have make it look like they could go deep in the playoffs again. They have good assistant coaches and fan support as well. Yes, Parker,Phillips, Alvis, Burleson, Hart, and Earnest will be there. Mixon will make sure they are solid with all starting nine. I think Parker has signed with Texarkana JC already and the others are sure to get their looks. Hope they have the kind of season they are capable of.

Minaldi is far from overrated. He does what he is put in the lineup to do. He is the best leadoff hitter in the district and one of the best in the state in my opinion. Johnson is an great thrower with potential to be an outstanding pitcher. He has all the tools workin for him and college scouts will be takin note on that this season.

Austin keys is good but not as good as your makin him out to be i watched him play during the summer with the heat. The short stop from tarkington ryan smelley i also seen him play during the summer with the angels he is pretty dang good he is a sophmore and will be the best defensive short stop in 22 3a hands down but those two are pretty good sophmores in 22 3a.

DeBerry was 1st team all district freshman year in 4a and 1st team all district sophomore year also despite an injury. Pretty sure he is the best short stop in the district hands down

You can't talk about how good jasper will be without mentioning their ace pitcher, come on

Right! Wasn't done purposefully for sure. Got carried away ::) ::) ::) ;) ;) ;)

They are looking good, even though it is early.

Keep an eye on Hardin-Jefferson freshman, Dillon Duplant.
What pos. is he playing?
Infield and pitcher..he trains with Sam Moore...he has to be throwing in the mid 80's (though not 100% positive)
Look for big things from this young talent

Dillon Duplant is a hard worker, the majority of his training the last 6 yrs has come from his uncle Derrick Spivey, and adding Coach Moore the last 2 yrs has really increased his velocity. Throwing 85-86 as a freshman.

Quickfeet i said he would be the best defensive ss in the district
My point exactly DeBerry is so good because of his defensive play
HJ has a solid infield this year and their top three can compete with any team out there. if HJ gets the bats goin this year no doubt will they turn around last year's 1-9 district season
