...POSSIBLE WINTER WEATHER EVENT ON FRIDAY FOR SOUTHEAST TEXAS...

AN UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE IS EXPECTED TO MOVE ACROSS TEXAS AND
INTO SOUTHEAST TEXAS ON FRIDAY. MUCH COLDER AIR WILL ALSO FILTER
INTO THE REGION DURING THE DAY AS THIS DISTURBANCE MOVES OVER THE
AREA. STRONG LIFT ASSOCIATED WITH THE DISTURBANCE WILL COMBINE
WITH MOISTURE AND COLD AIR SO THAT WINTER PRECIPITATION WILL BE
POSSIBLE ACROSS SOUTHEAST TEXAS BEGINNING EARLY FRIDAY MORNING.
PRECIPITATION WILL POSSIBLY START AS RAIN BUT THEN CHANGE TO SNOW
DURING THE DAY AS TEMPERATURES FALL.

THIS SCENARIO REMAINS RATHER UNCERTAIN SINCE THERE IS STILL SOME
QUESTION AS TO WHEN THE DISTURBANCE MOVES OVER THE REGION AND HOW
MUCH MOISTURE WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR WINTRY PRECIPITATION.
FORECASTERS WILL CONTINUE TO MONITOR FORECAST DATA AND MAKE
CHANGES AS NECESSARY. RESIDENTS OF SOUTHEAST TEXAS ARE ENCOURAGED
TO MONITOR THE FORECAST AND LOOK FOR UPDATES CONCERNING THE WINTER
WEATHER THREAT.

Coop....
Saturday evening forecast....
Would the temperature probably be in the mid 40's, and what about the wind...
Will it still be from the north Saturday evening, or will with the wind die down after the sunset???

Thanks...
got to figure how many layers of clothing I need to keep the camcorder perfectly still on those 20X optical zooms...

Okay Kerry, when you make this kind of statement, you get my wife and kids all worked up. Do I take it that you are saying that at minimum, we'll see some snow with the possibility of lot's of snow?

no snow needed around here, cant drive drive in that crap
[/quote]i drive in it up here on low profile tires. you just gotta know to slow down and when sliding DO NOT press on your brakes hard.  8)

and FYI, if i have anything to do with it---it will snow.  ;D  enjoy.

My hope is for the snow forecast to be a dud. Last thing a SETX team needs is snow. If it's just flurries it's not that big a deal as long as the guys can handle the cold. If there is accumulation .... well .... snow is the biggest equalizer and as a previous poster said, favors the passing game if the passing team can handle the snow/cold. Fortunately neither Dangerfield nor Comfort probably see any more snow than Kirbyville or Newton, so shouldn't be a decided advantage for anyone in either game.

P.S.- A really cold north wind blowing stiff/strong could be a bigger factor than the snow itself.
