I built a football field for my kids in our back field last summer (50yds long with 15' tall PVC goal posts...real end-zone markers, etc...had a little time on my hands (ha))...Went out this morning and got it all ready for a "Snow Bowl" this evening. Dang! If I just had time to run the lights to it (ha)...Thank God I've got just enough redneck in me to use the truck headlights (maybe even my wife's mini-van if she's not watching) and have some football fun in the snow...Enjoy everybody. This doesn't come often so make some memories. Still nothing in Lumberton yet but it's starting to mist a little and getting colder.
LOL. Only in SETX. haha When it snows down here the world stops. hahaha
And ain't it great? Nothing like the world stopping every once in a while just to give us all a break from the times when it spins way too fast. Have a good one everybody. Stay safe, watch the roads and hit somebody with a snowball if you get the chance!
I sure hope we get enough so my 5yearold gets to make a snowman!!
kicker Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 I also need a round sled, a large hill, and that slick stuff Clark Grizwold put on his. ;D

Last year my kids wanted to sled and I told them we can't sled without a hill so I drug them around on boogie boards with the Polaris Ranger. YES MOTHER...I was extra careful and it was fun. Our snowman was ugly but it stood (partly) through the night.

westend1 Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 Ha ha! When I was a kid, we had an ice storm and we tied a rope behind a horse and pulled an old car hood down the street. it was great until we went too wide and hit a stop sign.

BTW, I kept the boogie boards in the field...didn't get on the road...Thought about it...kids and I wanted to but the MOM kept a tight rein on us. Thank God for her!!!
ChampionEagles Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 We had a hood off a '51 chevy pickup behind a volkswagon beetle. This was way before a fourwheeler was invented! Slid real well though.

PURPLE 4EVER Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 Coop....What is the conversion factor from rain fall to snow fall...Heard it was like 1 inch = about 7 inches of snow...Looking at the radar of the gulf coast, there is A LOT of rain heading this way...To me it looks like it might be over a couple of inches of rain (if it were falling as rain).Would it be possible for this storm to maybe dump over a foot of snow in some places.
