Goose Creek Memorial head basketball coach Jeff Keener can call his team the best in Baytown after it beat the Sterling Rangers Tuesday night.

The Patriots came away with a 73-64 win at Winnie Brown Gym.

Memorial now holds a record of 3-2 and Sterling is 2-2.

The Patriots had four players finish the night in double-digit scoring. Dejon Wade dropped 16 points. Blaine Hines was the next closest with 15. Right behind him was Pedro Alvarez with 13 and Dustin Bradford, who scored 12 points.

The Rangers were led by DeShawn Williams, who finished the night with 25 points.

The Patriots’ first lead came on a 3-pointer from Lawrence Creeks to go up 11-9 and from there, it was all Patriots as they kept the lead the rest of the game and cruised to a win. They led 58-44 after three quarters.
