Scoutu14 Posted December 3, 2009 Report Posted December 3, 2009 When will English understand that this kid is your ticket to the playoffs and it starts now . It seems as though he thinks he still has those guards from last year. "New Flash" they are long gone! So if he doesn't start revolving his offense around this kid ,they will continute getting beat by 30 pts or more.

Coach Schrapps Posted December 3, 2009 Report Posted December 3, 2009 Before people start going crazy...this is my opinion on the kid from watching him play in the summer. He could be a great low post player. With his size strength and athleticism he could be a dominant four man. That said he strays to far away from the basket and is not nearly as effective on the perimeter. Coach English knows what he is doing I don't understand why you would come on here and complain about him?

[/quote]It all starts with having reliable players to control the ball and bring it up the court.. Nederland lacks that this year and it has hurt them so far.. But I agree, English always knows what he is doing and he will find a way to fix the problem. ;)

Have seen him play a few times this year and I think you are DEAD on!
Razor Posted December 3, 2009 Report Posted December 3, 2009 gotta get the ball down the floor before you can get it to the big guy...Nederland doesn't have alot of experience in the backcourt this year, but they will improve as the season wears on...the notion is to be playing your best basketball during district, not preseason.
Cool Hand Luke Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 This is a ridiculous thread. It is self serving. If you watched the Dayton game, it is not just the guards that are not getting the ball down the court. The first outlet pass was thrown away by the person this thread is about. The whole team has underperformed especially the posts. How many 2 foot shots, layups, and free throws have they missed. Just because the potential should be there doesn't mean the player is performing at that level. Chemistry does noThere is a ton of ability out there but it isn't being shown by the players. The coach can't play for them. I do have to say some of the bench players deserve more time if the starters aren't going to get it done. Miller, Hadnot, Wagner, Pitts, & Landry don't always look good but they all play hard like they want to be out there and appreciate any time they earn. The others play like they know they don't have to work as hard because they will get the time no matter how they perform. Unfortunately, that's the nature of high school sports in general now days. If you have the natural giffts you don't always have to play hard to get the time and those players realize that. It's still early and preseason is about gainning the experience to play in district. Let's keep it about the team and not divide by worrying only about one player. I still believe!!!!

And I know that the success of Nederland this year will come from 3 players that have to play better than what they are doing right now. Chris Cunninham, Kelvin Smith, and Dionte Forney have to be the one taking a majority of the shots. Its early and I know this team can get it together and be a solid team in district play.
