AggiesAreWe Posted December 6, 2009 Report Share Posted December 6, 2009 The Jasper Bulldogs, 2009 3A Region III finalist, will make the first of two visits to Hardin County in two weeks as the 2A #9 state ranked Kountze Lions plays host to the visiting Bulldogs. Kountze is coming off an Evadale tourney championship while Jasper went 0-2 in the Big Sandy tourney. Let's see if the Bulldogs can slow these roaring Lions down.Broadcast time will be 10 minutes prior to the varsity game which is set approximately for 7pm. In the Big Sandy tournament, Jasper lost to New Waverly, which was expected, but then got beat by Woodville which was not expected at all. I believe Jasper will be beat by 20 or more in this one. Im not saying Woodville is a top ten area team but should Jasper be 8 after losing to Woodville? I guess we'll find out if Woodville was for real because they go to Jasper next tuesday. ST413 Posted December 8, 2009 Report Share Posted December 8, 2009 I got to see Kountze tonight. They looked good. Both Walker and Bray are real good players, however at times I thought they were too preoccupied with getting a dunk. IT doesn't hurt in a game like this but could in closer contests. I felt that when Bray went out of the game in the first half, Kountze played better as a team. But I have to say when Walker went out in the second half, Bray lead the team real well also. They seem to be a little deeper than people on here had stated. Yes the talent falls off from the top 3 but Whisenant was quit impressive and some of the other subs were pretty good as well.
