THE HUNTSVILLE ITEM NEWSPAPER

Silsbee slips past No. 1 New Waverly again, 53-44.

Though disappointed with the loss, Goffney was pleased with the effort from his team.
“We’re getting better each game and now we’re going to try things to make us better individually,” Goffney added. “We plan on making this our last loss.”
The Bulldogs will play at Liberty on Tuesday before heading to Splendora on Thursday to play in another tournament.

NEW WAVERLY IS A VERY ATHLETIC TEAM, FAIRLY DEEP AND SKILLED. THEY NEED IMPROVEMENT ON FREETHROWS, CLOSE GAME DISIPLINE AND LEADERSHIP. WITH THESE IMPROVEMENTS THEY WILL CONTINUE TO BE ONE OF THE AREAS BEST TEAMS.
