KFDM COOP Posted December 8, 2009 Report Posted December 8, 2009 LC-M's Sicktich makes All-State againVAN WADEThe Orange LeaderFor the second straight year, Little Cypress-Mauriceville senior Christine Sicktich has landed on the Texas Girls Coaches Association All-State Team.Sicktich was the key cog in leading Coach Vicki Castino’s Lady Bears to their second straight District 20-4A Championship.The Lady Bears finished 32-8 and advanced to the area round of the playoffs.Sicktich, the District 20-4A Most Valubale Player this year and two-time All-Orange Leader MVP, led the Lady Bears with 425 kills and was 935-of-1,048 on attacks.She was also good on 570-of-620 serves and led the way with 132 aces and scored 627 service points.She was also second on the squad in assists (501)and digs (405).Also, what a lot of people didn’t know is that she played with a stress fracture in her foot for more than half of the 20-4A season.Only two other Southeast Texas-area players made the elite unit.Warren’s Alyssa Hatton made the Class 2A unit while West Hardin’s Alyson Vanya landed on the Class 1A squad.
