KFDM COOP Posted February 13, 2006 Report Posted February 13, 2006 How will West Hardin do next Season in 1A? Thoughts?
rhino1877 Posted February 14, 2006 Report Posted February 14, 2006 They will do extremely well. They have competed in a very tough 2A district and to move down to a 1A district is a dream. Not saying that it will be a walk in the park or something, but they are going to bring alot to the table down in 1A. Got some kids that can light up the boards. Good luck to the players.
Money431 Posted February 14, 2006 Report Posted February 14, 2006 I am doing my student teaching at West Hardin right now and I have had the pleasure of Coach Fuller allowing me to work with the team and even sit on the bench with him for the last couple games as an assistant. I can tell you from experience that this team is for real. They are only losing three kids to graduation this year and those three are from the bench. The 5 starters (4 Juniors and 1 Freshman) will all be back next year and are excited about competing at the 1A level. This is Coach Fullers first year to be at West Hardin and he has really helped these boys develop. They have an overall record of 19-11 right now with a chance to have a 20 win season if they defeat Deweyville tomorrow night in West Hardin. The team is lead by Brandon Lestinger who not only can shoot the lights out, but can rebound and dish the ball just as well. Tyler Copeland will be an even greater threat next year now that he has a year of varsity experience under his belt. There is no doubt he should win the newcomer of the year award. If this team does the important things such as getting in the weight room, on the track, and keep a ball in hand year round then they will dominate District 24-A and turn some heads in the playoffs.
Guest orangeman Posted February 14, 2006 Report Posted February 14, 2006 W.H. has an opportunity to do something special next year. It will not be an easy district with the likes of Big Sandy & Spuger playing basketball year around. However, if they continue to work hard and improve, big things could be happening in the small town of Saratoga. Could a little live streaming possibly make it's way to W.H. next year?
Guest orangeman Posted February 14, 2006 Report Posted February 14, 2006 We host Burkeville (currently #10) on Dec. 5th. Mark it on your calendar. That ought to be a great game between two ranked teams. The only thing that might keep that game from taking place is if W.H. football is still playing in the playoffs.
KFDM COOP Posted February 15, 2006 Author Report Posted February 15, 2006 They'll do great in all Sports!
rhino1877 Posted February 16, 2006 Report Posted February 16, 2006 Except Baseball. They normally struggle, but you never really know in 1A.
Baller4Life_5 Posted February 16, 2006 Report Posted February 16, 2006 If the oilers stay healthy and continue to work hard, I believe they will dominate district 24A next year. Led by junior guard Brandon Letsinger the oilers will be returning all 5 starters. I have to say i'v been really impressed with first year (public school) Varsity coach Kent Fuller this year. He led the oilers to there first 20 win season in years. I think he really relates to the kids well. Hopefully he will stay for years to come. Good luck to the Oilers next year.
KFDM COOP Posted February 16, 2006 Author Report Posted February 16, 2006 Yep, I believe the Oilers will be just fine!!
