mustangfan2 Posted December 15, 2009 Report Posted December 15, 2009 I was just told yesterday that LCM will not continue to play WOS in football. Does anyone know anything about this? Where you at COOP?
DP#1FAN Posted December 15, 2009 Report Posted December 15, 2009 I can't see this happening. This was one of the better games in the area last season.
mustangfan2 Posted December 15, 2009 Author Report Posted December 15, 2009 I didn't think there was much truth to it!
KFDM COOP Posted December 15, 2009 Report Posted December 15, 2009 LC-M not wanting to play as of right now.
skipper Posted December 15, 2009 Report Posted December 15, 2009 that is the word out at LC-m .NO WO-S this comming year.this is sad
PN-G bamatex Posted December 15, 2009 Report Posted December 15, 2009 Isn't this game a rivalry game?
WOSgrad Posted December 16, 2009 Report Posted December 16, 2009
Isn't this game a rivalry game?
It probably would be considered that if they played more. But since WO-S dropped down to 3A, the two haven't played consistently. If the two don't play, that would be unfortunate. With the expected improvement of LC-M under Coach Crouch, this would have been a good test for both teams. Plus, this would have been a way to save on the travel budget for both schools. There is plenty of time before those schedules are set in stone so I hope that there is some change of heart.
GUNHO Posted December 16, 2009 Report Posted December 16, 2009 Just could be Crouch is waiting to see what happens in February. He knows the hell he will catch from the community if he doesn't schedule wo-s. ;D
skipper Posted December 16, 2009 Report Posted December 16, 2009 not looking good at this time.hooks my be looking for two teams to fill the spots if thay dont play LC-M are brookshire royal
mustangfan2 Posted December 16, 2009 Author Report Posted December 16, 2009 I'm not sure what the reasoning could be for these two teams not to play, but it will not be a good thing for the community if these two teams don't play. I will use the BISD schools as an example, West Brook, Ozen, and Central play each other every year. Not only does it bring in money and good local games for the community, but it makes ALL the schools better. I attended the WOS/LCM game last year, and I must say I was VERY impressed with the Bears and look forward to the game every year. I know that most of our community enjoys the game as well. I think it would not really make since for this game not to be played.
WO-S 89 Posted December 16, 2009 Report Posted December 16, 2009 From KOGT West Orange-Stark Coach Dan Hooks always has a tough time getting people to play him in the pre-district schedule. That has gotten tougher as LCM has said they won’t schedule WOS or Bridge City for the next two years as Coach Randy Crouch looks to shake up his schedule with some new opponents
WOSgrad Posted December 17, 2009 Report Posted December 17, 2009 You would think that during these economic times and dwindling budgets that Coach Crouch would look forward to scheduling a couple of teams within Orange County instead of "shaking up his schedule." Not only that but to avoid the test of one consistently good team and another that seems on the come makes me scratch my head.
skipper Posted December 17, 2009 Report Posted December 17, 2009 sure hope dan hooks can find a few GOOD TEAMS to play.love to see kirbyville stay around and maybe pick up dayton are PN-G
Cat22 Posted December 19, 2009 Report Posted December 19, 2009 I'm hearing that LCM may schedule an Orange County team! ;)
AggiesAreWe Posted December 19, 2009 Report Posted December 19, 2009
::) Makes alot of since!!!
Wouldn't that be "sense"? ;)
AggiesAreWe Posted December 19, 2009 Report Posted December 19, 2009 I say let Randy run his program like he thinks it should be run, which includes the schedule.Do I agree with him possibly dropping WOS and Bridge City? No, but I won't criticize him for it.

KFDM COOP Posted December 19, 2009 Report Posted December 19, 2009 Coach Alverez thinks Kirbyville stays 2A.
