lu cards Posted December 21, 2009 Report Posted December 21, 2009 since the men arent very good ive been keeping up with the women and plan to make some games.looking at the box scores this year weve played only 9 players all year and 8 since ang green got hurt.we have 4 others on the roster,2 freshmen that are probably being red shirted.1 transfer form nebraska(WHITAKER) and 1 from france (IGOUFE) that arent freshmen.whats the story on them not playing?seems like a big 12 caliber player and one from overseas could help.
Guest coachacola Posted December 21, 2009 Report Posted December 21, 2009 Myriam Igoufe has a torn ACL (according to her bio on the LU website) and will miss the entire year. I'm guessing Whitaker has to sit out a year since she's a transfer from Nebraska. Unlike the men's team, the women's team is getting better each year.
AstrosDawg07 Posted December 22, 2009 Report Posted December 22, 2009 Hell the woman might could beat the men...

We return all but one in our starting line up, with Brittney leaving. Should be a great season for them, I encourage anyone to see them if you haven't yet.
BIGREDFAN2 Posted December 22, 2009 Report Posted December 22, 2009 We have been to all the Lady Cards' home games and they have been some great games. If you want to see quick run/gun b-ball, a quick point guard that will fake you out of the gym. Her no look passes are so quick you are amassed. She is a tough player, that will take a rough charge and is always looking to steal the ball. They play well together, keeping the coach and the bench in the game. I think Jenna (point guard), has helped the coach, as he is not so frustrated. Last year we lost games because of his changing plays in play confusing the players causing turnovers. The fan turn out is not near what it should be for this team. But then the Lady Cards have taken it on the chin from fans a long time.
Guest HFGirlsSportsFan Posted December 23, 2009 Report Posted December 23, 2009 We have been to two out of the four home games this year. Seeing some really good basketball. If you have girls who play of any age, it is quite a learning experience for them to watch the game played at a high level. It was great to watch Jenna Plumley (LU) and Lafrance Smart (Rice) play the Point as it should be played during the Rice game. Its also nice to see some consistent officiating (not something that is abundant so far this high school girl's season). Next home game is January 2 against LSU-Shrevesport. Game time 4:05. See you there.
hoops2000 Posted December 23, 2009 Report Posted December 23, 2009 I made the easy drive over to Beaumont from Houston on Sunday to catch the RICE game. Cardinals looked very impressive. They are fun to watch. Larry Tidwell continues to work his magic.
