East TX Posted December 29, 2009 Report Posted December 29, 2009 No he is not--a couple from OF and a couple from BC....come to the games and find out...lol
Guest Orangeboy Posted December 29, 2009 Report Posted December 29, 2009 Lhp mitchel hubbards-bc... not gonna be bad either

I have a little bit more first hand knowledge about all the returning pitchers, and to me he is right up with the best pitchers in the area and/or state.
Critter Posted December 29, 2009 Report Posted December 29, 2009 can anybody put up last years stats on these guys?

[/quote]Hicks (1.60, 13-3, 136 Ks)Johnson (2.43, 10-1, 88 Ks)Statum (6-3, 2.57, 66Ks)Felts (7-2, 2.87, 47 Ks}Hicks is also the only one in this district that has a D1 scholarship as a pitcher.
East TX Posted December 29, 2009 Report Posted December 29, 2009 Hicks is amazing look how well he did working his way fairly deep into the playoffs!Any stats on Zoch and others that pitched some?
JRF1992 Posted December 30, 2009 Author Report Posted December 30, 2009 how about Flowers from Silsbee he had one of the nest era's in the district last year with a 1.38 that has to be something
baseballjunkie Posted January 28, 2010 Report Posted January 28, 2010 who is the "better" pitcher is a touchy subject.Hicks, Felts, Statum, and Johnson are the top 4 i'd say.i' m not sure if all my stats are right, im just doing this off memory, but i recall that Felts had the best ERA of the bunch with Hicks close behind. then johnson and statum were close together a full run higher than the first pair.In terms of WINS, Matt had the most with 13, then I believe Logan had 10.All these pitchers go about thier business with a different style though.Johnson doesnt throw hard, but he locates and gets guys fishing very well.Hicks has the best overall stuff in the bunch, and he just overpowers hitters when he's on.Felts is aggressive and attacks hitters and it leads to quick innings and easy outs.Statum is a a mixture of all 3. sometimes aggressive, sometimes nippy, and can be overpowering at times. I cant point a finger and say one is the best, but these are definitely the top pitchers in 21-3a based on last year's performances.every year more emerge though, goodluck to all.

Don't be jelious of him.
East TX Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 Hicks has stood out for years now. He has a great record and has pitched to all the teams played that were the best scheduled; plus, led to deep in the playoffs. He has proven to win the big ones over and over for yearsQuestion, what is BCs Mitchell Hubbard's top speed? He seems to be ready to join an excellent team brace of good HS Pitchers.Over at OF, I like their pitcher Chase Angelle he stands out as quite superior IMO.

Hamshire never really had any big games for him to win, and the games he did pitch they won the majority of them.
AggiesAreWe Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 Well, all I know is if I had to start a team and got to choose whoever I wanted out of 21-3A, I would start with Felts of Orangefield. He may not be the best pitcher, but he is by far the best player in the entire area.Felts will be the only player from this class locally to play professionally at a high level.
